The <strong>OCL</strong> building division has proved itself to be a fast growing dynamic division within the group providing the very best in service and quality.<br />
We have so far retained many happy clients and have recently won a number of 5 year framework contracts which is testament to our hard<br />
work and successful project deliveries over the years coupled with our management systems.<br />
Over the past 10 years we’ve worked on both many residential, domestic, commercial and large infrastructure building projects across the UK.<br />

ipswich Temp Works<br />

Giffen – aGa<br />
<strong>OCL</strong> were contracted to install multiple specialist temporary works, for new openings within ipswich Station structures.<br />
The works are part of the aGa station modifications.<br />
Due to the complex nature of the works, a design was created to install UC needles at close spacing’s. The slimshore supports<br />
were installed to an agreed design, with all ground enhancements completed prior.<br />
The <strong>OCL</strong> <strong>Group</strong> were able to offer experienced managers and operatives to deliver the project<br />

• Carry out all pre surveys, ground surveys and cat scans of areas<br />

<strong>OCL</strong> were awarded the package of works, as part of our 5 year buildings framework agreement.<br />
Breakdown of works undertaken on project to date;<br />
SEQUENCiNG aDvaNCE WORkS<br />
Prior to commencing installation works the following activities were completed:<br />
• Survey of existing asset to confirm others had built to standard and spec.<br />
• Co-ordination meetings with SWiP<br />
• Order long lead items<br />
• Delivery of key materials into the allocated storage areas<br />
• Co-ordinate and plan access and depot traffic management arrangements as required<br />
• Completion & approval of Method Statements, Quality Plan & iTP<br />
install the ground floor blockwork walls.<br />
• Blockwork was 1400 solid lightweight ready blocks with a minimum 7N/mm3 and tenon bonded at joint intersections<br />
install soffit insulation<br />
• at ground floor level, a 75mm thick kingspan k10FM kooltherm was installed in the chemical storage area<br />
install window openings<br />
• New steel members were installed around new window openings to provide fixing points for new windows.<br />
install Levelling compound<br />
• Training and staff room areas that required carpet or vinyl, will have a levelling screed by Flowcrete installed in 2 layers,<br />
prior to the installation of carpet or vinyl flooring<br />
install Gypframe plasterboard walls and corridors<br />
• kingspan insulating boards and plaster skim finishes were installed in to internal corridors created and within the proposed<br />
training room soffits.<br />
Painting<br />

<strong>OCL</strong> was awarded this project due to our ability to provide an all-inclusive, multi experienced team package for bespoke works.<br />
The works package was to install a new suspended steel walkway, around the perimeter of the new SER room. The steel supports<br />
were installed so bearing was within the new brickwork and the existing retaining wall. These penetrations had to be carefully<br />
“toothed” out, to ensure the new and existing structures were not damaged outside the area of penetration required. These<br />
areas were then repaired and re built to create an apathetically pleasing end product.<br />
BREakDOWN OF WORkS UNDERTakEN ON PROJECT TO DaTE;<br />
• Remove all bird guano, contaminants, vegetation, debris, and friable materials from existing coverings.<br />
• Thoroughly clean all surfaces of roof with a fungicidal wash.<br />
• Flush through and test existing rainwater gully and associated pipework.<br />
• Carefully remove defective areas of asphalt, to roof’s a, B, C, D, E & F, repair blisters, smooth out slump/sags.<br />
• apply new kemperol roof system or equal approved.<br />
• Broadcast grit onto roof finish to achieve a minimum SRv of 0.36.<br />
• Re-instate safe walking route to match existing footprint.<br />
• Produce CDS and Form C for scaffold edge protection<br />
• Delivery of key materials into the allocated storage areas<br />
• Co-ordinate and Plan access and traffic management arrangements as required<br />
• Completion & approval of Method Statements, Quality Plan & iTP<br />
