2016-<strong>2017</strong> PRINCIPALS OF THE YEAR RECOGNIZED<br />

CFISD representatives for Region 4 Principal of the Year, Yvette Garcia of Holbrook Elementary School and Susan Higgins of Smith Middle<br />

School, were recognized during a Region 4 Principal Recognition Ceremony at Hotel ZaZa on April 5 th . Garcia and Higgins were both selected<br />

by their CFISD principal peers earlier in the spring to serve as district representatives for the honor.<br />

Garcia has 32 years of experience in education, including eight years as a CFISD principal at Francone (2009-2012) and Holbrook<br />

(2012-present) elementary schools.<br />

Higgins has 39 of experience in education, including 16 years as a CFISD principal at Arnold (2001-2009) and Smith<br />

(2009-present) middle schools.<br />
