2016-2017 PRINCIPALS OF THE YEAR RECOGNIZED
CFISD representatives for Region 4 Principal of the Year, Yvette Garcia of Holbrook Elementary School and Susan Higgins of Smith Middle
School, were recognized during a Region 4 Principal Recognition Ceremony at Hotel ZaZa on April 5 th . Garcia and Higgins were both selected
by their CFISD principal peers earlier in the spring to serve as district representatives for the honor.
Garcia has 32 years of experience in education, including eight years as a CFISD principal at Francone (2009-2012) and Holbrook
(2012-present) elementary schools.
Higgins has 39 of experience in education, including 16 years as a CFISD principal at Arnold (2001-2009) and Smith
(2009-present) middle schools.
