START OF ACT #1
FADE IN
INT. TOWN BARRACKS NIGHT
Sat in a candle lit room men in cloaks sit around a table
littered with reports and maps of the mountains. The men
mutter to one another until RONNOC begins to speak.
RONNOC
I'd like to formally thank each and
everyone of your efforts in these
past few days.
The men gathered around the table smile and laugh silently
to one another.
RONNOC
Thanks to your efforts we've
finally been able to pinpoint the
location of the Erros spy.
The men cheer and holler at the mention of there achievement
before slowly receding back to silence to allow RONNOC to
speak again.
RONNOC
Now that we hold all the cards its
time we closed in on the Erros scum
which will bring us one step closer
to ending this 100 year blood bath.
At the mention of the war all the men go silent and bow
their heads.
RONNOC
(consolingly)
I know this war has been hard on
us. Its taken many lives from both
sides, but that is why we must keep
on fighting for if we give up now
all of our forefathers struggles
will have been for nought.
(loudly)
So when I say we are going to take
the next step to securing victory
how should you respond.
The soldiers stand and begin shouting some unsheath there
swords and wave them in the air.
A man enters the room and motions for RONNOC to come.

EXT. BARRACKS COURT YARD NIGHT
RONNOC
What is it soldier and why couldn't
it wait.
SOLDIER
General RONNOC sir, I've been given
reports of a dire bear roaming the
area to the south of the spies
compound.
RONNOC
Damn it! How large was it Soldier?
SOLDIER
Sir, fully grown reports say 12
feet in height maybe bigger.
RONNOC
(under breath)
Gods be damned
(normal)
That put it around 500 lb that's
the biggest one to date.
SOLDIER
Sir, the reports say its staying
put inside a cave not to far form
the large ravine. It shouldn't pose
a threat to the mission so long as
it isn't disturbed.
RONNOC
Thank you Soldier I'll be sure to
tell my men to stear clear of that
area.
(Jokingly)
Maybe if we're lucky the bear will
do our job for us.
SOLDIER
One can only dream, Sir.
RONNOC
Your dismissed Soldier.
Both the Soldier and RONNOC leave the Court yard.

INT. LORDS MANOR DAY
RONNOC enters the large plaza of the manors entrance. He is
met by a servant and led through the front door and halls.
Filially the stops at the door to the study and opens the
door. Sitting in the chair is a large well dressed man with
reading a report of the latest proceedings of the war.
HARAD
(not noticing RONNOC
enter)
This is absolutely dreadful another
shipment has been plundered! When
will those damn soldiers actually
fight it's been a month since my
last shipment of Nurain wine.
RONNOC
I prefer the wine brewed by my home
county but to each his own.
The Lord quickly turns around in surprise.
HARAD
Damn it maid how many times do I
have to tell you knock or at least
announce when you enter.
The servant says nothing and only bows.
Leave us
HARAD
The servant closes the door and RONNOC and HARAD are alone.
RONNOC
So I take it you're not pleased
with the war effort.
Hard walks over to his desk and begins to poor a glass of
liquor.
HARAD
Where are my manners care for a
drink general.
RONNOC
You know commanding officers are
forbid to drink.
HARAD
Ahh yes must have slipped my mind.
We'll more for me.

RONNOC
Have you read the report?
HARAD
Which one I get so many these day
it hard to keep track.
HARAD take a long sip of his drink
RONNOC
The one pertaining to the Erros
Spy?
HARAD stops puts down his drink and straitens up in his
chair.
HARAD
(Flatly)
You've found him
RONNOC
Yes and we already have a plan to
capture him and should be able to
have him in our custody within the
next few days.
HARAD
Why wait? You know his location,
you have the troops please tell me
why you haven't acted yet?
HARAD burst out
RONNOC
Reports tell of a dire bear in the
area.
HARAD
(with disbelief)
A dire bear? That's what's stopping
you? You the great general RONNOC
Reinhardt the sword of his great
majesty is being delayed because of
a mere dire bear?
RONNOC
It's big...
HARAD
IT'S TO BIG! That the reason!

RONNOC
(Sternly)
Lord HARAD don't forget your place
while here you hold some semblance
of authority know that I am not a
man who takes criticism very well.
HARAD shrinks into his chair intimidated by RONNOC
HARAD
Of course of course who am I to
question a seasoned veteran as your
self. I was in shock that you of
all people would delay an operation
because of a simple woodland
creature but if you see it fit to
postpone the operation who am I to
judge?
RONNOC
(sarcastically)
I'm glad you understand the depth
of the situation.
HARAD locks eyes with RONNOC but quickly looks away.
HARAD
We'll if that's all you have for me
I beilive we're done here I'll have
the maid escort you out.
RONNOC
That wont be nessary but thank you.
RONNOC opens the door and steps out into the hall.
RONNOC (V.O.)
The lords as impatient as ever but
no matter. Men like him can be
easily dealt with if need be. There
are a thousand other noble man
waiting to get the rights to this
shipping town.
The servant steps out from around the corner and quickly
bows her head. As RONNOC passes her he takes note of that
she's shaking with fear. He smiles to himself and steps out
the door.

INT. RONNOCS TENT NIGHT
It's been two days since RONNOC's meeting with HARAD. The
operation to take out the Erros spy (Emmit green)is
underway.
A soldier enters the tent. RONNOC eyes are glued to the
battle plans and doesn't look up.
News?
RONNOC
SOLDIER
(Nervously)
Sir the target isn't in his shack.
RONNOC eyes perk up to the soldier.
SOLDIER
(takes a large breath)
Sir it seems as thought the spy has
caught wind of our plans sir.
RONNOC
The operation hasn't even started
yet and already you've lost sight
of the target?
SOLDIER
Sir, I believe the target was
spooked because of a patrol form
the town to the south sir.
RONNOC
Why the hell did no one mention to
me that a patrol would be waltzing
through my mission area!
SOLDIER
Sir, one more thing.
RONNOC
More good news I assume.
SOLDIER
Depends on how you look at it sir.
RONNOC
Don't give me a half ass response
like that spit it out soldier!

SOLDIER
Sir, the dire bear that was spoted
in the northern woods was found
dead in the bottom of a near by
ravine sir.
RONNOC stands up and walks toward the soldier.
RONNOC
(emotionless)
What did I just say?
SOLDIER
(Shaking)
Sir, no half ass responses sir!
RONNOC
Correct and what do you think you
just gave me just now?
SOLDIER
Sir, I apologies but I don't
follow.
RONNOC slowly walks over to the soldier remaining composed
and calm until he is right up in front of his face.
RONNOC
This better can you hear me now?
The soldier nods eyes to the ground.
RONNOC
Good cause I'm only going to say
this once and if you don't give me
a response I find acceptable then
well were gonna have a problem
understood?
SOLDIER
(Meekly nods/ quietly)
Yes sir
RONNOC
(Calmly)
Alright, now tell me what does a
dire bear laying dead at the bottom
of the ravine have to do with the
mission can you please tell me why?
SOLDIER
(Hesitantly)
Sir, there where no blood or cuts
(MORE)

SOLDIER (CONT'D)
on the bear or in the surrounding
area.
RONNOC
This is significant because?
SOLDIER
Sir, Dire bears don't simply slip
and fall into giant ravines
something knocked it down there.
RONNOC
Impossible that bear was three
times the size of any normal dire
bear nothing could have taken it on
head to head and survived let alone
knock it down.
SOLDIER
Exactly sir but it did happen which
means that there is something
capable of knocking a monster like
the dire bear off it feet without
so much as a scratch.
RONNOC backs away from the soldier and stares off in deep
thought.
RONNOC (V.O.)
Nothing should have been able to
take out, perhaps a pack or dire
wolves, but this close to the
mountains no... What then what?
Sir
SOLDIER
RONNOC snaps out of his thought and again looks to the
SOLDIER.
RONNOC
For now it remains a mystery call
in another squadron just to be safe
and alert the soldiers stationed at
the river and get the hounds deploy
the hounds.
SOLDIER
Sir already done sir.
Good.
RONNOC

A commotion starts outside the tent. RONNOC brushes past the
soldier and heads out of the tent.
EXT. BASE CAMP NIGHT
RONNOC pushes his way to the center of the of the soldiers.
When he reaches the center he sees a young wounded soldier
with an arrow still embedded into his leg.
RONNOC
What happened son where's the rest
of your unit.
The young soldier is unresponsive he shaking with fear eyes
wide. RONNOC snaps the arrow head off pulls the arrow out of
the boys leg. The soldier snaps out of his hysteria in a cry
of agonizing pain. RONNOC grabs the young soldier by the
scruff of his shirt.
RONNOC
I'll ask you again what happened to
your unit?
YOUNG SOLDIER
(Stuttering)
I..I...t.t..It
RONNOC smacks the YOUNG SOLDIER across the face
RONNOC
Don't worry your safe now please
who did this to you and where the
rest of your unit.
The YOUNG soldier stops shaking. RONNOC lets go of his shirt
and sets him down on a nearby log.
YOUNG SOLDIER
It was the spy
RONNOC
The Erros spy took out the entire
unit?
YOUNG SOLDIER
No the spy shot me in the leg and
was able to take out a few others
before being put down it was
someone else who took out the rest.
RONNOC
Who? This area is uninhabited only
the spy should be here.

YOUNG SOLDIER
I didn't get a good look at his
face but he looked young about my
age.
RONNOC
A boy was able to take on the rest
of your unit. Was he armed?
The YOUNG SOLDIER shakes his head.
YOUNG SOLDIER
Ya but all he had was a small
knife.
RANDOM SOLDIERS
You must have been seeing things no
way could one kid with a knife take
on even a single one of us.
The soldier all give each other looks of disbelief and
doubt.
YOUNG SOLDIER
(Franticly)
No I swear I saw him do it. He was
fast faster than anyone no anything
I've ever seen. He dodged the
capt's attack and through him off
the cliffs.
RONNOC
What of the rest of the troops?
YOUNG SOLDIER
(normally)
Like I said the spy was only able
to pick off one of us with his bow
and injure me before one of us were
able to kill him. After that the
kid stated screaming it was like
nothing I've ever seen before I
could blink he already closed the
gap between him and Khole. Khole in
a panic slashed his sword wildly at
the kid but he shattered it with
his bear hands.
The soldiers all look at one another with even more
disbelief.

YOUNG SOLDIER (CONT'D)
Khole was stuck to the ground he
tried to get away but the kid stuck
him while. That's when I ran into
the woods and made it back here.
RONNOC eyes are closed deep in thought trying to process all
the information from the YOUNG SOLDIERS story.
YOUNG SOLDIER
(Pleading)
You believe me right Commander?
RONNOC
I don't know all I can say is the
targets dead and someone was with
them wether or not they're as
powerful is yet to be determined.
RONNOC pauses and begins walking back to his tent before
entering he turns around and faces all the soldiers.
RONNOC
Some one get the doctor and fix the
boys leg. I want a unit to recover
the spies body and belongings.
Finally send out a emergency
message to all the guard posts in
the area to be on high alert, tell
them to capture and detain any
person who passes through I want a
list of the detained by tomorrow
morning the boy could have gone far
as for the rest of you patrol the
surrounding area comb ever rock,
river and tree. If he's still here
well find him Dismissed!
The soldiers begin running around. RONNOC enters his tent.

INT. BASE CAMP DAY
RONNOC is at his desk looking at reports form the various
gaurd posts. None of which detained anyone who resembled the
boy in the YOUNG SOLDIERS story. RONNOC scratched is head
and sits in silent frustration. There is a knock on the
door.
Enter
RONNOC
The messenger enters the room and approaches the desk.
RONNOC
More reports I presume.
MESSEGER
Yes sir, but this one is...
Strange.
How so?
RONNOC
MESSEGER
It comes from the northern
checkpoint. Apparently they where
attacked.
RONNOC
No surprise there its the base we
have to the border it was only a
matter of time.
MESSEGER
No Sir, it wasn't an attack by
Erros they say it was a boy.
RONNOC springs up out of his seat and snatches the report
from the messengers hand and franticly begins to read the
report.
RONNOC
Well I'll be damned. The kid wasn't
crazy.
Sir?
Nothing.
MESSEGER
RONNOC
RONNOC continues reading the report and as he reads more and
more his expression becomes more and more grim.

MESSEGER
Sir, I heard rumors about the
operation. It couldn't possibly be
the same person that outpost is
almost 2 days travel by foot you'd
have to be as swift as the birds to
make it to that checkpoint in only
a single night.
RONNOC
You're right it is impossible for a
normal person, but this boy isn't
normal listen to this. (reads
report) "There was only one
casualty. One guard was sent flying
into the wall another had his legs
kicked out from under him
shattering both legs, the last
guard attacked with his sword only
to have the boy catch and shatter
the blade with his bear hands
before delivering a fatal punch to
the head." Now heres the best part
"He leapt into the air and soared
away like a bird."
The MESSENGER is so dumfounded that he can barley speak.
RONNOC closes the report and slams back onto his chair.
RONNOC
The worst part is he had papers to
cross the Eross boarder which means
that damn spy sent him to deliver a
message.
RONNOC slams his fist onto his desk startling the MESSENGER
MESSEGER
If what you say is true than he
might already be in Eross as we
speak.
RONNOC gets up from his chair and begins to walk towards the
MESSENGER he rases his fist but before he can strike him
another messenger burst though the door.
MESSEGER 2
Urgent news Sir.
RONNOC halts his attack on the first messenger.

RONNOC
This better be important.
MESSEGER 2
Sir the boy as been spotted in the
border town in the north.
RONNOC
That's fours days travel. Are you
sure?
MESSEGER 2
Sir, the report comes from two
guards that were assaulted while
collecting war taxes from the local
tavern. They were reported to have
been sent flying after only one
punch form a young man in a cloak.
RONNOC starts to walk back to his desk.
RONNOC (V.O.)
It has to be him all the pieces fit
together if he was heading to see
the king he'd have to pass through
that town. He probably was hungry
after his travels and stopped in a
local tavern.
RONNOC
I'm hungry
Both messengers look at each other in confusion.
MESSEGER
What do you mean your hungry?
RONNOC takes a seat at his desk and smiles.
RONNOC
I said I'm hungry and I know just
the place to grab a bite to eat.
MESSEGER 2
Sir, that towns 4 days travel by
the time we make it there he'll be
long gone.
RONNOC
Something tells me he'll be back
after all it seems as thought he
made some new friends.

END OF ACT #1
START OF ACT #2
EXT. NORTHERN BORDER TOWN DAY
Its been four days since the boy was last spotted in the
town and General RONNOC and his forces just entered the
small town.
RONNOC (V.O.)
What a pitiful little town.
SOLDIER
Sir, report.
RONNOC
Go head soldier.
SOLDIER
Sir, the boy hasn't been sighted in
the town for the past four days its
likely he crossed over the boarder
the night he arrived sir.
RONNOC
Well I guess it cant be that easy
now. Have your men set ready I'm
off to secure our temporary head
quarters.
SOLDIER
Sir, yes sir.
The Soldiers begin to fall in line behind the general he
rides through the streets. The towns people avert there eyes
and quickly move out of the generals way.
RONNOC (V.O.)
This town is a hub for people
looking to seek asylum from Eross.
I may have more work to do here
than dealing with the boy.
RONNOC and his men ride through town until they reach the
towns tavern. As RONNOC dismounts his horse KATRIANA steps
out from the tavern.
KATRINA
What is the meaning of this what
are more soldiers of Anor doing in
our town.

RONNOC pays no mind to KATRINA and instead walks right past
her.
KATRINA
Hey! I'm talking to you!
RONNOC enters the tavern and surveys the place. KATRINA is
right on his heels still shouting and yelling for RONNOC to
answer her.
KATRINA
Don't you ignore me!
KATRINA grabs RONNOC shoulder and attempts to turn him
around. Instead RONNOC turns to her and slaps her across the
face knocking her to the ground.
RONNOC
Know your place woman. I have no
intention of explaining myself to
you. Soldier arrest her.
The soldier closes to him picks KATRINA up off the ground
and begins to shackle her hands. The owner and KATRINA's
father comes form the back of the tavern and sees her being
arrested.
FATHER
What is the meaning of this?
RONNOC
This woman forgot her place and
mouthed off one to many times.
FATHER
Does that justify this sort of
action?
RONNOC
That is not all she attempted to
overpower me so I put her in her
place.
FATHER
You attacked my daughter!
RONNOC
I suggest you change your tone
quickly we wouldn't want any more
harm to become of her now do we?
KATRINA's FATHER backs down and sulks his shoulders in
defeat.

FATHER
What do you want?
RONNOC
It's not what I want it's who.
FATHER
I don't understand.
RONNOC
I'm looking for a fugitive a boy, I
was told he was spotted her 5 days
ago.
FATHER
I'm afraid I can't help you I do
not know of a boy and even if I did
many people come and go form my
tavern I don't remember every
single person that walks through
those doors.
RONNOC motions for the soldier holding KATRINA. He brings
her over. RONNOC grabs KATRINA by her hair and pulls her up
till she standing on her toes. KATRINA tries to resist the
pain but can't stop herself form tearing up.
RONNOC
I cant imagine this is comfortable
for her.
FATHER
(Pleading)
Please I swear I don't remember any
boy. I'll give you anything just
please don't hurt her.
RONNOC pulls even harder causing KATRINA to wince in pain
now standing on just the tips of her toes she can't hold
back the tears.
KATRINA
(Through winces and
tears)
Please FATHER make him stop
RONNOC
Only you can make it stop FATHER I
wonder how much harder I'd have to
pull till some of that beautiful
(MORE)

RONNOC (CONT'D)
hair starts to get ripped from her
scalp.
KATRINA can no longer speak but she mouths to her father
pleading for him to make the pain stop.
FATHER
Alright fine yes a boy did come
through here. He didn't say who he
was or where he was going but he
did attack two guards that were
harassing me and my daughter. Now
please let her go.
Very well
RONNOC
RONNOC tosses KATRINA and she lands in a heap at her fathers
feet.
FATHER
That all I know there's nothing
left for you here so please go.
RONNOC
That's not entirely true.
FATHER
What more do you want?
RONNOC
I intend to stay here maybe the boy
will show up here again soon. Also
I have a feeling this town is in
some desperate need of some order
so I intend to stay a little while
longer.
FATHER
What does that have to do with us?
RONNOC
Me and my men require housing and
food you will provide them free of
charge.
FATHER
I can't do that...
RONNOC
Very well than I guess I can't
overlook your daughters action
which are punishable by
(MORE)

RONNOC (CONT'D)
imprisonment.
FATHER
Fine just let my daughter go I'll
do as you say.
RONNOC
Good. Men unpack the gear we have a
lot of work to do.
Soldiers pile into the tavern moving chairs and tables
throwing things of shelves and replacing them with swords
armor and other things. KATRINA and her father watch in
horror as there home is invaded and hold tightly to each
other.
RONNOC(V.O.)
I'll wait for you boy I'll make you
pay for the lives you took. You may
be strong but you can't escape me
or your sins.
