OD clamping end prep tool
Mactech Europe has introduced a new
electric OD clamping end prep tool
for use on both thin-wall and heavywall
tubes with a high percentage
of chrome, especially in high purity
applications.
The tool has a large clamp that
grips tubing from the outside, evenly
distributing the holding power, to
ensure a chatter-free, precision end
prep on both thin-wall and heavywall
tubes. Featuring a 950W electric
motor and requiring no cutting oils,
the end prep tool is suitable for use on
high-purity piping systems requiring
37½° bevels, flat-facing, J-preps or
orbital welding.
Equipped with a ratchet feed that
provides over 1" of stroke, the
Mactech Clamping End Prep Tool
operates on 110/230V and is suitable
for prepping stainless steel and most
hard-to-machine alloys. It has a
narrow body that fits between 1 1 /8"
tubes, a working range of 0.25" to 3",
and uses an easy-to-change block for
changing tube sizes.

Press fitting system for gas, water and air
Eurotubi Pressfitting is a system
of tubes and fittings used for
hydrothermosanitary installations
recommended for the conveyance of
water, gas and compressed air.
The fittings feature an O-ring seating,
with high use resistance rubber seal,
able to support high pressures and
temperatures over 85ºC. Tubes and
fittings are assembled through the
permanent deformation of the fitting by
special pressing jaws mounted on small
electromechanical tools.

Once pressed, the O-ring ensures a
hermetic and indivisible connection.
The Eurotubi Pressfitting System has
a wide range of available fittings, in
diameters from 15 to 108mm in 316L
stainless steel, and in diameters from 12
to 108mm in carbon steel.
Material quality, constant sealing and
duration tests, and rigorous quality
control have allowed the Eurotubi
Pressfitting System to obtain conformity
with the strictest international
certifications, including the German
DVGW and VdS approval. For naval
applications, the system was approved
by RINA (Italian Maritime Register) and
ABS (American Bureau of Shipping).
In addition, the Eurotubi Pressfitting
System is compatible with most brands
of fittings available in the market.
The Pressfitting System combines the
reliability of the joints with the easy and
quick method of laying, as it does not
require gluing, threading or welding.
A system created with Pressfittings
ensures high performance and long life,
in addition to minimising maintenance.
Because of the quality and reliability
of the stainless steel used, Eurotubi
Pressfitting System is suitable for
creating drinking water and domestic
water systems, and can also be used
for heating, air conditioning, climate
control, gas, cooling, fire extinguishing
and compressed air systems, and in the
naval industry.
Eurotubi states that for thermal
installations, carbon steel represents an
innovative solution, offering the same
quality level provided by traditional
copper systems, but at lower costs.
The company is working to expand its
range with ‘V’ profile fittings. For the US
market, these will be available in inch
dimensions.
