Vinyl foam tape<br />
Pres-On, a manufacturer of industrial<br />
tapes and gaskets, has introduced a<br />
vinyl foam tape for sealing, cushioning<br />
and gasketing.<br />
The company states that VF20200<br />
tapes provide the same performance<br />
as more expensive tapes, making them<br />
an economical alternative in HVAC,<br />
packaging, weather-proofing and OEM<br />
applications.<br />
VF20200 tapes are coated on both<br />
sides with permanent acrylic adhesive<br />
featuring a functional temperature<br />
range of -20°F to 200°F. The closed cell<br />
structure resists absorption of water<br />
while providing load-bearing qualities.<br />
Because the foam is conformable,<br />
VF20200 tapes are suitable for joining<br />
irregular surfaces where glues, fasteners<br />
and standard tapes may fail. It is also<br />

resistant to degradation by inorganic<br />
and organic acids, reducing agents,<br />
detergent solutions, alcohols, aliphatic<br />

The tapes can be die-cut or kiss-cut to<br />
custom specifications, such as donuts,<br />

Major water main projects completed<br />
Artesian Water Company, a subsidiary<br />
of Artesian Resources Corporation, has<br />
completed nine projects in New Castle<br />
County and Sussex County, Delaware,<br />
USA, investing nearly $5mn in eight water<br />
main replacements and a new installation.<br />
“In order to ensure our customers<br />
receive the highly reliable service<br />
they expect, Artesian undertook the<br />
nine projects over the course of four<br />
months,” said John Thaeder, senior<br />
vice president. “With the design work<br />
completed, the approvals obtained<br />
from various state agencies, and with<br />
the contractors assigned, the projects<br />
proceeded on course.”<br />
The projects resulted in the installation of<br />
35,000ft, or nearly seven miles, of water<br />
main, and included the replacement of<br />
ductile iron and cast iron pipe up to 62<br />
years old.<br />
“We strive to replace ageing main within<br />
a timeframe that allows us to avoid the<br />
disruptions to service that arise from<br />
main breaks that occur once the main<br />
has reached the end of its useful life,”<br />
said Dian C Taylor, chair, president<br />
and CEO of Artesian Resources<br />
Corporation. “The completion of these<br />
current projects, where the average<br />
age of main was over 55 years old, is<br />
an example of our commitment to our<br />
