But Dartmoor also has a very gentle side. Safe, quiet
areas where you can picnic with the family, easy to
follow trails for strolling, walking and cycling, many
lovely open spaces where the children can run to their
heart’s content and a huge number of child friendly
and dog friendly places to stay, to eat and attractions
to visit.
ACTIVITIES
Dartmoor has the capacity to offer something for
everyone, regardless of your hobby, interest
or passion.
From simple circular walks, which can include a
picnic spot, to a more extreme activity like a Bear
Grylls survival course, there will be an activity or
attraction that will bring you pleasure, enlightenment
or excitement.
For the children try one of the family friendly
attractions, take a trip on a steam train, visit a petting
farm, or book them onto a gorge scrambling course
which will challenge and push them!
Look out for bush craft days, circus skills or arts
and crafts days at one of the camping sites, tourist
attractions or National Trust properties.
Outdoor fun can be had all through the year with
South West Lakes, or Dartmoor National Park Ranger
Ralph Club. Remember to look at the Visit Dartmoor
