American Academy of
Orthokeratology & Myopia
history.
The assembly doubled
as the fourth meeting of
the International Academy
of Orthokeratology (IAO),
with over 40 countries
from the IAO’s five regional
associations represented.
The IAO at the meeting
The AAOMC meeting
new AAOMC members
were paired with veterans
to act as mentors through
the event. Over half the
attendees were firsttimers.
Scent of Sunnies
Luxury eyewear brand Oliver Peoples has partnered with
Ben Gorham’s Stockholm-based fragrance house, Byredo,
to explore the intersection of sight and scent.
The collaboration was inspired by synesthesia, a
phenomenon in which stimulation of one sense involuntarily
produces an association with a different sense.
The collaboration involves Byredo’s master perfumer perceiving
the sights of Los Angeles through different coloured lenses, and
translating them into various smells, producing a multi-faceted
fragrance. The result is an original Oliver Peoples frame through
which the colour of the lenses correlate with the aroma of the
custom-blended fragrance by Byredo. O
