Tbis bas been a difficult year for tbe band, in
that the wbole aspect of the competition has
changed with the introductioll of trumpets, and
also owing to the receipt of the competition
music very late in the year. My own personal
opinion is tbat this was one of the finest bands
Wynberg has produced. Unfortunately, the judges
did not sbare tbis opinion, as we were placed only
third. The whole competition this year, from the
point of view of bands, was inadequately adofficers
and cadets, especially of UA" company
and the Special Platoon, for the many bours of
arduous work, sacrifice of free time and effort
they put into making the Wynberg Cadet Detachment
a force with whicb to be reckoned.
