Los primeros pobladores en la región fueron los nativos Tunebos,<br />
Guahíbos, Sálivas, Cusianas, Caquetíos, Piapocos, Amorúas.<br />
En las tierras casanareñas se concentraron los ejércitos<br />
libertadores que hicieron la travesía del páramo de Pisba que concluyó<br />
con las victorias del Pantano de Vargas y el Puente de Boyacá.<br />
Casanare permaneció como provincia neogranadina hasta 1857.<br />

El territorio de Arauca estaba habitado antes de la conquista española por<br />

lipas, guahíbos, achaguas, cuibas, chiricoas, lucalías, piapocos, maipures y<br />
cuilotos.<br />
Durante gran parte del siglo XIX Arauca pertenecía a la provincia de<br />
Casanare, la cual en 1819 pasó a formar parte del Departamento de Boyacá de<br />
la Gran Colombia; en 1831 Con la disolución de la Gran Colombia, Arauca<br />
continúa siendo parte de la provincia de Casanare, si bien posteriormente hacia<br />
el año de 1857 fue anexado al Estado Soberano de Boyacá, siéndolo más tarde<br />
al departamento de Boyacá.<br />

Barranquilla fue centro de las operaciones militares de los republicanos de 1820 a 1821.<br />
En 1858, Barranquilla fue designada capital de distrito municipal.<br />
A principios de los Estados Unidos de Colombia, la creciente importancia comercial de Barranquilla<br />
promovió la construcción, entre 1869 y 1871, del Ferrocarril de Bolívar, primera línea férrea de la<br />
actual Colombia, entre Barranquilla y Sabanilla (Salgar), donde funcionaba la aduana.<br />

• Alonso de Ojeda fue el primer buscador que recorrió las costas hacia 1498, pero el<br />
despedregador, así que el primero en hacerlo fue Juan de La Cosa en el cabo de la<br />
Vela.<br />
• El territorio guajiro perteneció al Estado del Magdalena hasta 1871, año en que por<br />
virtud de la Ley 153, el Estado lo cedió a la nación para lo que administra<br />
directamente.<br />
• Alonso de Ojeda was the first navigator to sail the Guajira coast to 1498, but not to<br />
land, for the first to do so was Juan de La Cosa in the Cape of the Sail.<br />

Mujer: manta guajira. Su cuello puede ser cuadrado, en escote en “V” y ovalado en la cintura.<br />
Tiene dos cordones por dentro que se amarran al cuerpo, dando una forma armada por<br />
delante y totalmente suelta atrás. De calzado cotizas, y otras cosas como la mochila y los<br />
collares.<br />
Hombre: es el guayuco o taparrabo, las waireñas, un sombrero y una camisa.<br />
Woman: manta guajira. Its neck can be square, in "V" neckline and oval at the waist. It has<br />
