Experience Ubud’s charm and laid back village atmosphere, where days can become weeks and weeks can become months. Day 2: Ubud-Kintamani-Guliang Visit Gunung Kawi temple, accessible by 315 stone steps passing through spectacular rice terraces. Continue via well-known Tirta Empul Temple and onto Kintamani for spectacular views over Lake Batur and its volcano, Mt Batur. Jump onboard your jeep and start your adventure downhill across black lava trails and into lava caves on this active volcano. Day 3: Guliang Learn the art of the beautiful Balinese Canang Sari, the daily Balinese Hindu offering. Become a farmer for the day, present your canang sari as you enter the rice field, learning how to plant and harvest rice. Day 4: Guiliang – Candi Dasa Visit the traditional village of Pengelipuran to observe the original architecture of the Balinese. On the way to Mt Agung, stop by Basakih temple, the largest and most important temple in Bali. Retire for the evening in Candidasa, a sleepy seaside resort town. Day 5: Candidasa – Amed Set off on a two hour trek through from Tenganan via Tenganan village. Continue onto Tirta Gangga Water Palace for a scenic lunch, and onto the fisherman village of Amed for a relaxing afternoon. Day 6: Amed – Sanur/Nusa Dua Grab your snorkel and fins and hit the water. You're in for a treat with these crystal clear waters filled with abundant sea life and mesmerizing coral. Uluwatu Kuta Sanur Nusa Dua Beach Nusa Lemongan Nusa Penida Highlights worth seeing along the way Petulu – Home to thousands of white herons who nest along the road throughout the village, and are believed to bring good luck. Grab a drink at one of the local warungs and enjoy the spectacle. Warning: Walk quickly under the trees if the herons are roosting. Tirta Empul Temple – Meaning "holy water spring”, discovered in AD962 and believed to have magical powers. Famous for its holy water that escapes via 12 fountains, where Balinese Hindus go to for ritual purification. Besakih Temple – Known as the “Mother Temple” for over 1000 years, sitting 1000 metres high on the slopes of Mt Agung. Comprising of 86 temples and surrounded by scenic rice paddies, mountains and streams. Tirta Gangga Water Palace – A sacred water palace built in the early twentieth century by the last king of Karangasem. Boasting decorative ponds, fountains, lush plant life and natural bathing pools. Amed – This town is famous for it’s beaches, lined with traditional outrigger fishing boats and most popular with divers heading out to see the USAT Liberty wreck. Day 7: Day of leisure in Sanur/Nusa Dua Make the most of one last morning before your arrangements end at the airport or chosen hotel. Day 3: Munduk - Pemuteran Start with a short trek through the rainforest, then jump on a traditional wooden boat as you cross the twin lakes of Buyan and Tamblingan. Day 5: Pemuteran - Lovina Rise early for a bird watching tour, or just simply relax for the day before heading to the Buddhist Monastery of Brahma Vihara. Day 6: Lovina - Guliang Spend the morning dolphin watching. Pass through local villages this afternoon on your way to the hidden paradise, Sekumpul Waterfall, with views over Lake Batur and it’s volcano. Day 7: Guliang Become a Bali farmer for the day as join in with the locals in their everyday lives. End the day in Gianyar for a local food experience. Day 8: Guliang – Ubud Stop at Gunung Kawi Temple and Ubud’s Royal Palace. Head to Ubud market for a spot of shopping, and visit the famous Monkey Forest. Highlights worth seeing along the way Ulun Danu Bratan Temple – A famous landmark and significant temple complex located in Bedugul. The smooth reflective surface of the lake surrounding most of the temple’s base creates a unique floating impression, while the mountain range of the Bedugul region encircling the lake provides the temple with a scenic backdrop. Buddhist Monastery of Brahma Vihara – Bali’s largest Buddhist monastery. Comprising of a hectare of hillside, with numerous meditation rooms, libraries, beautiful gardens, and an impressive mini replica of the world's largest Buddhist archaeological site, Borobudur. Sekumpul Waterfall – One of Bali’s hidden paradises. A group of seven waterfalls separated by dense green valley, offering pure tranquillity. Ubud Markets – Where the author of Eat, Pray, Love found her inspiration and love for Bali. Barter to your hearts content for beautiful Balinese art and knick knacks. Day 9-11: Ubud – Sanur Experience one of Bali’s most impressive temples, Uluwatu Temple, perched above the sea at the westernmost tip of the peninsula.
