The June meeting of the society will
be on Monday 26th June 2017.
The speaker will be David Wilson on
Bevan Boys in Finedon?- forgotten
miners in Northants, and the
challenges of oral history”
The meeting will take place in the
Mission Room, Well Street Finedon at
7-30pm.
Admission to the evening is £2.50 for
members and £3.50 for non members,
afterwards light refreshments will be
served.

The society‟s next years (2018)
exhibition is hoped will be the shops in
“Finedon Past and Present”. If anyone
has any photographs of shop fronts in
the early 1900‟s to the 1970‟s we
would be most grateful if you could
loan them to us or donate them to the
society. You may contact any member

A Musical Risotto
“Die Welt der Musik kennt keine
Grenzen” or “The world of music
knows no boundaries!”
Wellingborough Orpheus Choir and
Querbeet, a small choir from Wittlich,
Wellingborough‟s German twin town,
will be giving a joint concert in St
Barnabas Church on Saturday 24th
June.
It will be a programme of light music
from around the world, with each choir
contributing individual items and
coming together to perform Jonathan
Willcocks‟ Musical Risotto, described
as: “a marvellous stew of musical
terms, presented with tongue planted
firmly in the stylistic cheeks of Rossini,
Handel, Beethoven et al”.
The concert will start at 7.30 pm and
tickets are just £5 (accompanied

Church Monthly Draw
The results of the May church monthly
draw are as follows:
Total receipts of £251.00 are divided
equally between the winners and the
church funds. Winning numbers for the
May monthly draw are:

For our next meeting as speaker we
welcome Mrs. Margaret Burgon.
Anyone wishing to come along for an
