Finedon Local History<br />
Society<br />
The <strong>June</strong> meeting of the society will<br />
be on Monday 26th <strong>June</strong> <strong>2017</strong>.<br />
The speaker will be David Wilson on<br />
Bevan Boys in Finedon?- forgotten<br />
miners in Northants, and the<br />
challenges of oral history”<br />
The meeting will take place in the<br />
Mission Room, Well <strong>St</strong>reet Finedon at<br />
7-30pm.<br />
Admission to the evening is £2.50 for<br />
members and £3.50 for non members,<br />
afterwards light refreshments will be<br />
served.<br />
Help<br />
The society‟s next years (2018)<br />
exhibition is hoped will be the shops in<br />
“Finedon Past and Present”. If anyone<br />
has any photographs of shop fronts in<br />
the early 1900‟s to the 1970‟s we<br />
would be most grateful if you could<br />
loan them to us or donate them to the<br />
society. You may contact any member<br />

A Musical Risotto<br />
“Die Welt der Musik kennt keine<br />
Grenzen” or “The world of music<br />
knows no boundaries!”<br />
Wellingborough Orpheus Choir and<br />
Querbeet, a small choir from Wittlich,<br />
Wellingborough‟s German twin town,<br />
will be giving a joint concert in <strong>St</strong><br />
Barnabas Church on Saturday 24th<br />
<strong>June</strong>.<br />
It will be a programme of light music<br />
from around the world, with each choir<br />
contributing individual items and<br />
coming together to perform Jonathan<br />
Willcocks‟ Musical Risotto, described<br />
as: “a marvellous stew of musical<br />
terms, presented with tongue planted<br />
firmly in the stylistic cheeks of Rossini,<br />
Handel, Beethoven et al”.<br />
The concert will start at 7.30 pm and<br />
tickets are just £5 (accompanied<br />

Church Monthly Draw<br />
The results of the May church monthly<br />
draw are as follows:<br />
Total receipts of £251.00 are divided<br />
equally between the winners and the<br />
church funds. Winning numbers for the<br />
May monthly draw are:<br />
