EXCURSIONS
1 Hannig (2‘350 m.a.s.l.)
The Hannig offers fantastic vistas of the Mischabel
chain’s four-thousand metre peaks, especially
from the terrace of the „Hühnerstall“ restaurant,
making this sunshine hotspot the best spot
to drink in the views.
2 Rope park
They’re without doubt the highlight of the challenge
course through our adventure forest: Europe’s
longest zip wires over the Fee gorge – 280m out
and 210m back. Go on, take a leap of faith!
5 Spielboden (2‘450 m.a.s.l.)
Whilst you’re up on the Spielboden enjoying the
beautiful ski resort in winter, our cute furry friends
are still sleeping like logs in their burrows. However,
in spring our marmots come out to play and
are more than happy to be tempted.
6 Feeblitz toboggan run
The Feeblitz in Saas-Fee is always a spectacular
experience. First take the steepest toboggan
lift in the Alps up to the start – then hurtle back
down the mountain along the breathtaking track
at speeds of up to 40km/h.
9 Furggstalden (1‘893 m.a.s.l.)
10
High above Saas-Almagell and easily accessible
by chairlift, Furggstalden (1,893 m above sea
level) is the oldest hamlet in the Free Republic of
Holidays, Saas-Fee, that is still inhabited.
„18 4,000 metre peaks“ (3‘200 m.a.s.l.)
The Saas Valley is surrounded by 18 peaks of 4,000
metres or more, and each mountain has its own
story. Each stop along the trail features a small
sculpture of each mountain, photographs of the
individual peaks and information.
13 Kreuzboden (2‘400 m.a.s.l.)
14
A cable car brings you up from Saas-Grund to the
ski resort of Kreuzboden in comfort. In summer
you can go climbing, hiking and mountain biking
in Kreuzboden, or you can just kick back and relax
by the lake.
Saas-Balen Round Church
The late-baroque chapel, which is dedicated to
the Assumption, consists of two large, interlocking
cylinders (with nave and chancel), which
are topped by flat conical roofs.
ice is being rewritten.
7 The Mattmark reservoir (2‘200 m.a.s.l.)
the highest peaks in Switzerland and a majestic
panorama of glaciers, every visit guarantees an
experience like no other.
8 Minigolf/Pit-Pat
You probably know how much fun mini golf is, but
you may not know what it‘s like to play in front of
a spectacular mountain backdrop. Not only that,
in Saas-Almagell you can also try your hand at
pit-pat.
12 Hohsi-Land in summer
It‘s also home to a little something for our youngest
citizens, too: Hohsi-Land. The park includes
a playground, farm animals, a water park, a themed
walkway and a climbing frame with a 13mlong
slide.
