Inna'lillahi wa inna ilaihe raji'oon such words do not come out<br />

except from a disbeliever or a hypocrite. We see that the 'progressives'<br />

neither have true faith in Allah's revelation or His Wisdom, nor do<br />

they have the intellectual integrity or truthfulness to stick <strong>by</strong> their<br />

own principles. They follow what they like however frail and they<br />

reject what they dislike however well established! When it suits them,<br />

they seek to act upon a weak narration despite all odds; and when it<br />

does not, they reject the entire collection of Bukharee and Muslim -<br />

even parts of the Qur'aan!<br />

Deen based on feelings<br />

The 'progressives' show an attitude that closely resembles that of the<br />

Christian-modernist i.e., giving more credence to people's feelings<br />

than to the revealed texts. This is why one often finds them speaking<br />

of the 'spirit of Islam' in order to avoid following the specific teachings<br />

of the Qur'aan and the Sunnah.<br />

For example, they argue that text of the Qur'aan only says for<br />

women to dress modestly and they do not like to talk about the<br />

specific details of hijaab and say we only need to follow the 'spirit' of<br />

the law. Naturally, the Modernist/Progressives find satisfaction with<br />

the Murjiah view that faith is belief in the heart only, and actions of the<br />

limbs are not part of faith i.e. 'progressive sola fide'!!! The neoprogressives<br />

have gone even further to define an atheist with cultural<br />

or social affinities to Muslims as 'Muslims'.<br />

Disputing about agreed upon matters<br />

When an issue has been agreed upon <strong>by</strong> consensus amongst<br />

the previous generations, then peculiar opinions of those who come<br />

later do not break this consensus and do not make this issue a<br />
