PROGRAMME REVIEW Irvin Morgan takes a look at recent offerings
For the final article of the season, I have
completed a totally subjective “League
Table” for our division’s programmes,
based on the issue produced for our
League visit. My main criteria has been
how much of the content will be of interest
to the visiting supporter – essentially, how
long would it hold my interest on the
journey home, as well as general content,
presentation and layout.
Some Clubs clearly have a dedicated editor
backed up by a team of contributors, whilst
others give the impression that
programme production has been dumped
on somebody who already wears other hats within the Club.
Naturally this article has been written before our visits to Banbury and Basingstoke, so these Clubs do
not feature I the analysis. Within each section of the “League Table” Clubs appear in alphabetical order.
The opinions aired are those of the
reviewer, most certainly not those of
the Club
I have to take issue with Irvin’s
suggestion that some programme
editors are not dedicated – you have
to be to do it all. For the minority it
may be a labour of love, for most, it is
simply hard labour, irrespective of the
finished product. - Editor
