‘adh-hibil ba’sa rabbun-ncs,<br />
‘ishfi wa ‘antash-shcfe,<br />
lc shifc’a ‘illc shifc’uk,<br />
shifc’ul-lc yughcdiru saqamc.<br />
“Remove the agony, O Lord <strong>of</strong> Man.<br />
Cure (him/her): You are the (true) Giver <strong>of</strong> cure,<br />
there is no cure but Your cure,<br />
(which is) such a cure which leaves behind no disease.”<br />
al-Bukh\r|<br />
`Abdull\h ibn `Abb\s t narrates, “Whenever the Prophet r would<br />
visit any sick person he would say,<br />
lc ba’sa ]ahprun, in shc’al-lch.<br />
“It (the sickness) is no problem, but (it is) a cure,<br />
If All\h so wills.”<br />

`Al| t narrates, “<strong>The</strong> Prophet visited me when I was ill, at which time I<br />
was praying, ‘O All\h! if my time (<strong>of</strong> death) has come, have mercy on<br />
me; and if my time is later, raise me; and if it is a test, make me patient.’<br />
“He (<strong>The</strong> Prophet) asked, ‘What did you say?’<br />
“I repeated what I had prayed. On this the Prophet said,<br />
allchum-mash-fihe, allchumma `cfihe<br />
‘O All\h! Cure him. O All\h! relieve him.’<br />
“He then told me to stand, and I stood. I never suffered from that<br />
<strong>illness</strong> after that.”<br />
