July Joust...
Hever Castle’s annual Summer Joust is on the horizon, and
the noble knights of Royal England are riding in with high
hopes of being named this year’s champion. The tournament
opens on Saturday 15 with a Royal procession from Henry
VIII and Anne Boleyn. Visit the castle throughout the rest of
July to get in on the action, with Saturday 22 and Sunday 23
also seeing extra historical entertainment with a Knights and

Marsh festival hosts a line up of 32 events including

performance of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, poetry
recitals, superb art and photography exhibitions
and a one-day mini festival for children packed

Shuck it up...
The iconic Whitstable Oyster Festival is relocating
to the beautiful Tankerton Slopes this year. The
classic Landing of the Oysters on Saturday 22
July will be followed by a seafront procession
and oyster eating challenge. Throughout the rest
of the festival there will be the ‘Mud Tug’ tug
of war, oyster food fair, and a grand finale on
Monday 24 July’s Children’s Day with picnicking,
kite flying and building ‘grotters’ lanterns from

Up in the Air...
Commemorating one of the most pivotal
battles of the Second World War, The Battle
of Britain Air Show has recruited spitfires and
hurricanes as well as a Tiger Moth to take part
in a display held at Headcorn Aerodrome on

be an opportunity to get your picture taken
