Read - Isaiah 1:1-9, 16-20
• Widespread sin had defiled this nation who had completely turned their backs on God. Isaiah was called not only to
prophesy about Isaiah's future, but also to call God's people to repentance.
Isaiah 1:4-9
• Israel knew how God was asking them to live. However, they rebelled and suffered the consequences of
disobedience.
• In what area of my own life do I struggle to obey God?
• Am I experiencing any consequences to this disobedience? Yes No
Isaiah 1:16-17
• How do these verses connect with James 1:22, "Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving
yourselves"?
• What do I need to do to turn from my disobedience and follow God?
Isaiah 1:18
person
• Isaiah's message progressed from judgement to an offer of
forgiveness. This message was given to people who already had a
relationship with God and had experienced His work in their lives.
• How would I describe my relationship with God?
I think I'm okay with God because I'm generally a good
Jesus is
THE way,
THE truth,
THE life.
I believe in a God but wouldn't say I have a "relationship" with Him
I have a relationship with God based on my trust in Jesus Christ
I am unsure where I stand in my relationship with God
• Jesus said in John 14:6, " I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
• According to Jesus, how can I have a right relationship with God?
By my good works
By attending church faithfully
By trusting in Jesus alone to save me
• If I've never made this decision, who's a friend or leader who could explain more?
