Read - Amos 5:16-27
• Among many other things, the "Day of the Lord" is a day when God rights all wrongs and brings justice.
Amos 5:16-20
• Those who were oppressing the poor desired for the Day of the Lord to come, but they did not realize justice would
be brought upon them also, not just their enemies.
• Have I ever looked at the sin of someone else and desired justice be brought upon them?
Yes No I am embarrassed to answer
• What is an area in my life where I would be afraid of God bringing justice?
• Prayer: Take a moment to thank God for His Grace and Mercy on me.
Amos 5:21-25
• God uses a strong word: hate. God hated the empty worship and the lack of authenticity in
their lives.
• Are there times when my worship is empty or when I am going through the motions in my
Christian life?
Not really; I'm really focused on keeping Him first
More times then not I feel like a robot without any feelings
Sometimes, but I continue to praise and trust Him even when I don't feel like it.
We must never
forget that true
Christianity is
more than teaching
- it is a way of life.
In fact, it is life
itself."
• What does God desire from me today in my worship and living?
