surprises new clients when we are
starting to photograph the house and
I am methodically flipping off all the
light switches. Is it counter intuitive?
Yes. But it yields the most natural
look of the color of the room and all
the beautiful things within it.
SOCIAL MEDIA IS A MUST FOR
DESIGNERS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS
ALIKE. ANY TIPS FOR WHAT MAKES
A REGULAR PIC INTO AN INSTAGRAM
STANDOUT?
My biggest piece of advice is…
consistency, in two ways:
››
Consistently post everyday. Pick a
time that works for you and your
busy schedule and press share.
››
Be consistent with the look and
feel of each image. This will create
a consistent and clean theme on
your feed. Consistency will help
you communicate your businesses
brand to your audience.
FINALLY, WHAT DO DESIGNERS
NEED TO KNOW ABOUT FOSTERING
A CREATIVE PARTNERSHIP WITH A
GREAT INTERIOR PHOTOGRAPHER?
All interior photographers work
differently, just like all designers
work and conduct business in varying
ways. It’s important to look at an
interior photographer as a member
or partner of your team. And just
like any member of your business,
it is vital that they add value, are
communicative, honest, transparent,
and passionate about communicating
your brand as designer while being
authentic and passionate about their
art. My clients have become some of
my dearest friends, and it makes the
success that much sweeter when you
are working alongside people who you
respect and adore.
