There is no doubt that certain times of
the year are typically busier than others

of us are focused on spending time with
the family, others are on Rightmove and
other property websites seeing what
properties are available.
Easter is another peak time, as families
are looking to find a new home and be
settled before they have to apply for
a school place for their children. The
desire to live within key catchment
areas is one of their key motivations
for moving. It also means they can
enjoy the summer months in their new
home before starting the new term in
September.
But does this mean that January
and Easter are the best times to sell
your home?
There is only one answer to that –
what is your motivation?
We all have our own reasons for wanting
to move, for example you may have a
new job that means that you need to
change location. Situations like this are
not determined by seasons, but you may
have a timeframe that you need to move
within. It is important that you let your
estate agent know your circumstances

may feel as though you have outgrown
your home; the walls seem to be closing
in around you, and you long for a space to
breathe. Moving home in this case does
not have any timeframe, it is based on a

there is no definitive answer of when
is best, as it is really down to you. If
you have to move out of necessity, not
choice, then your heart could possibly
not be in it. If you’re feeling that you

back foot before you have even started.
