• Good communication. Rarely do I leave a conversation where
I don't know what is expected of me.
• Provides clear sense of direction for me and other WREC areas.
• Usually very clear with expectations.
13. BUILDS & MAINTAINS RELATIONSHIPS: 4.3
• Creates a strong WREC professional staff culture.
• Yes. Encourages a fun (while still productive) workplace. Works
towards the WREC being a community.
• Both within the WREC and around campus.
• Seems to know everyone in the industry.
• Culture, culture, culture! Curtis has done a great job keeping
"the family" together and growing. We gather socially, which
we all enjoy and strengthens our bonds. I can't imagine working
in any other kind of environment... I know how lucky we
are.
16. TAKES INITIATIVE: 4.6
• Always. Leads by example. Unafraid of having difficult conversations,
finishing projects.
• Let's others lead as well — actually promotes this.
• Never settles, always looking for new areas of improvement.
17. KEEPS COMMITMENTS: 4
• Yes, and when it is not possible Curtis communicates well
enough to reschedule.
• Also develops opportunities and provides training and coaching.
18. EXTENDS TRUST: 4
• Many of the qualities mentioned above lead to being a person
that people can trust.
• Empowers employees to think and speak for themselves.
• Trusts us to do our jobs without micromanaging.
14. PRACTICES ACCOUNTABILITY: 4
• A nice balance of making decisions while also taking input
from"the team".
• Always a good expectation.
• Holds employees as well as himself accountable.
• Sometimes I wonder if Curtis even has any other words in his
vocabulary other than this one — he brings this to his surroundings
and to himself.
15. LISTENS FIRST: 4.6
• Always seeking input or feedback from individuals, groups,
and customers.
• Very much so. Even when in the middle of an email or project,
Curtis demonstrates this quality very well and it is greatly
appreciated.
