Through September 4 th - Houston Restaurant Weeks - For thousands
of Houstonians and visitors to the bayou city, Houston Restaurant
Weeks provides a month-long passport to the city’s top restaurants
and award-winning chefs. Houston Restaurants Weeks is run by volunteers
and 100 percent of the proceeds raised from area restaurants
go directly to the Food Bank. For more than four weeks, diners get
to taste prix-fixe menus specially priced at $20 for lunch and $35
and $45 for dinner. In addition to the ever-expanding contribution
made to the Houston Food Bank, the event has grown to include not
only the trendiest eateries in Uptown Galleria, bustling downtown
and vibrant Midtown, but also popular eateries in outlying communities
such as The Woodlands, Sugar Land and Galveston, Texas,
among others. A complete listing of participating restaurants and
their respective Houston Restaurant Weeks menus will be posted at
HoustonRestaurantWeeks.com. Reservations are required for diners
seeking to take advantage of Houston Restaurant Weeks, however
participating restaurants may take walk-ins at their discretion.
Recurring daily - Mercer Botanic Gardens. The arboretum and botanic
gardens are divided by Aldine Westfield Road. On the east side
is the botanic gardens where over 20 acres of beautifully maintained
gardens feature bamboo, color displays, daylilies, endangered
species, ferns, gingers, herbs, tropicals, to name a few. The east
side also has an extensive walking trail system, a remembrance
Walk for memorials and honorariums, ponds, a visitors’ center,
courtyard plaza, plus much more. The arboretum on the west side
of Aldine Westfield features two playgrounds, a picnic area nestled
in a woodland setting with 58 picnic tables, two barbecue pavilions,
hickory bog, boardwalk, cypress swamp, maple collection and several
miles of walking trails that wind through beautifully preserved

September 1 st -3 rd - BrewMasters Festival. Join fellow craft beer
lovers on Labor Day Weekend, September 1 st through September
3 rd for the 8 th Annual BrewMasters Craft Beer Festival, recently voted
as one of the top three beer festivals in the country by USA TODAY
readers! This foam-filled weekend has long been lauded for its international
beers and Taste It First offerings, now also gives guests
the chance to try con coctions with beer at the BrewHaHa Grand
Tasting, as well as premium tequilas at the Friday Night Nach-Yo

September 14 th - Kathrine G. McGovern Opening Night Collage.
Celebrate the official grand opening of the Kathrine G. McGovern
College of the Arts at the University of Houston! The Opening Night

open studio tours at the School of Art and performances by the
Moores School of Music and School of Theatre & Dance. There will
