FROM THE CEO 

of games and shows. SYS also partnered with 

the Asia Dive Exhibition (ADEX) which ran 

concurrently at the SUNTEC Exhibition Centre, 

providing shuttle bus to connect the two 

venues. We were also delighted to welcome 

back the on-water Demonstration Platform, 

where a range of spectacular toys were 

available to be ‘tried and tested’ by some of 

the more daring spectators; such engagement 

is immensely valuable to the atmosphere of 

SYS. 

The Singapore Yacht Show (SYS) 2017 

confirmed the event’s status as the most 

important marine show in South East Asia, and 

further developed Singapore’s reputation as 

the boating business hub of the region. This 

was helped by better weather than in previous 

years, and the first-class venue that is ONE˚15 

Marina Sentosa Cove. Representatives of 

many of the world’s leading brands chose to 

exhibit in force, and were happy later to report 

an increased number of visitors over 2016, an 

increase in the quality of those visitors and, 

ultimately, good sales figures and improved 

‘further prospects’. 

The Show attracted exceptionally strong 

representation from the highest-profile 

dealers, many of them presenting both 

regional and world premières, reflecting the 

strategic importance of SYS to so many of the 

exhibitors. 

In addition to the in-water show, SYS 2017 

presented a greatly expanded number of 

family-friendly activities over the four days, 

including a children’s playground and plenty 

The social programme was second-to-none: 

immediately after the Asia Pacific Yachting 

Conference, SYS celebrated the best-of-thebest 

Asia Boating Awards, and those with 

sufficient stamina went straight on to the 

Singapore Yacht Show Welcome Party. Over 

the next four days, a whole catalogue of 

dealers’ receptions, VIP parties, fashion shows, 

supercar parades and the SYS & Yisin Chinese 

Regal Night took place. Aside from the formal 

functions, visitors were well catered for by 

food & beverage outlets in the pavilions, in 

the marina, on the boardwalk and all along 

Quayside Isle where guests and industry 

professionals were able to meet, relax, and 

discuss in the restaurants and bars and any 

number of pop-up concept bars as well. 

The Singapore Yacht Show team is delighted 

to have been the architect of an immensely 

successful event, staged in a world class venue, 

and putting South East Asia ever more firmly 

on the global yachting map.

presented more premières than ever before, and the new popup 

dining area on the boardwalk was a focal point of the Show. 

The party programme seemed almost endless, both private 

and open, underscoring SYS’s ability to connect buyers and 

sellers through social events in sophisticated surroundings.

DAZZLING 

DEBUTS 

More global yacht builders chose the 

Singapore Yacht Show as the launch 

platform for their regional debuts, with over 

20 new models on display for the first time. 

Princess, Jeanneau (Boat Lagoon Yachting), 

Beneteau Gran Turismo and Beneteau’s 

Oceanis Yacht 62 (Simpson Marine), Leopard 

Catamarans, Azimut, Cranchi and Boston 

Whaler (Hong Seh Marine), Ferretti and 

Pershing (Ferretti Asia-Pacific and Hong Seh 

Marine), and Sunreef Catamarans all presented 

brand new out-of-the-box boats. SYS was also 

the venue of the world première of Charley, 

a 51m superyacht support vessels from Echo 

Yachts. 

Completing the ‘big boats’ line up were the 65m 

Ambrosia from Benetti, and the astonishing 

77m Silver Fast by SilverYachts from Western 

Australia. The combination of size, novelty, 

and social events was a perfect demonstration 

of what a yacht show should be – a coming 

together of all the elements that contribute to 

the luxury boating lifestyle. 


SYS & YISIN CHINESE 

REGAL NIGHT 

No show in China attracts the sort of boats 

that SYS has on display, making this the 

perfect platform to introduce the yachting 

lifestyle to select China VIPs. After just two 

years the Chinese Regal Night has become 

a major fixture on the SYS programme to 

the delight of all those involved, organisers 

and guests alike. 

VIP LOUNGE 

During the Singapore Yacht Show, special 

guests were invited to take time out in the 

VIP Lounge, which featured the Diageo World 

Class Bar, fabulous sounds via AV Intelligence 

audio equipment as well as Singapore’s most 

comfortable lounging furniture and accessories 

from Singapore-based furniture designer Sam & 

Sara with their brand new ipse ipsa ipsum range. 

There was even an eclectic array of Moritz 

Grossmann watches on display with experts 

on-hand for visitors to discover the range. The 

perfect venue to unwind! 

YACHT PARTIES 

It really was “parties, parties, parties” for four nights in a row. Every evening there were receptions held 

by Azimut Yachts, Ferretti Group, Princess Yachts, Simpson Marine, and Sunreef Yachts. Sunseeker 

threw Happy Hours, and the beer tokens nearly ran out at Sevenstar Yacht Transport. Then there were 

the exclusive soirées on board Silverfast, Ocean Emerald, Ambrosia and Charley for invited guests. 

The docks were buzzing: social events are invaluable in bringing together buyers and sellers, and 

SYS provided the opportunity for exhibitors to entertain and network with clients in a sophisticated 

ambience. Everyone’s dance card was full, every night.

To make sure that VIP guests travelled in 

style, the Singapore Yacht Show partnered 

with BMW. As the Show’s Official Luxury 

Motor Vehicle Partner, transfers were 

arranged in a fleet of the company’s flagship 

sedan – the BMW 7 Series. SYS may be the 

destination, but it’s always better to arrive 

in comfort and style! 


CAR CLUBS 

SYS is a magnet for car enthusiasts as well 

as boat lovers. The 2017 Show hosted car 

clubs from Ferrari and Lamborghini, and 

the car owners and drivers were treated 

to an unique and in person look at some 

of the superyachts on display as well as 

special access to all areas of the Show. 

ON-WATER 

DEMONSTRATION 

PLATFORM 

Seeing is believing, but experiencing is so 

much better. SYS teamed up with Ola Beach 

Club and Red Paddle to present hands-on 

and interactive demonstrations of kayaks, 

motorised jet surfs, paddleboards and the 

exhilarating water-jetpack.

COMO SHAMBHALA 

WORKSHOPS 

Breathe and stretch for a little peace, quiet, 

and healthy living among all the hedonism, 

when COMO Shambhala presented three 

exclusive workshops on board the 25m 

catamaran, Lady QuikGlow. Guests had the 

choice of: ‘Meditatation’ with Per van Spall; 

‘Nutrition’ by Eve Persak; ‘Yoga and Pilates’ 

from Joyce Liew and Lorenzo Augustus 

Tay. 

POP-UP BARS AND 

DINING AREA 

Hot? Hungry? Thirsty? The extensive 

selection of pop-up bars and restaurants 

on The Esplanade had something for 

everyone, from ice cream to sizzling 

sausages, and from cocktails to cold-brew 

coffee. The whole area near the main ramp 

to the docks was a focal point of the Show, 

a meeting-and-greeting place that nobody 

could miss.

Silver Fast

SILVERYACHTS’ presence at SYS was 

unmissable with its impressive 77m 

Silver Fast on display. The Espen 

Øino-designed motoryacht has a 

sleek, aerodynamic hull form and 

superstructure that is characteristic 

of the shipyard. She is the largest 

vessel to be built by SilverYachts to 

date, and was also the largest yacht 

ever to be displayed at the Singapore 

Yacht Show. 

Benetti Yacht’s 

Ambrosia 

The Italian powerhouse, Benetti 

Yachts, is one of the oldest builders 

of luxury motoryachts in the world 

and is known for producing vessels 

of timeless Italian styling and 

construction elegance. The 65m M/Y 

Ambrosia was no exception at SYS 

with traditional elegant lines, her six 

deck levels, and exterior lines, are 

sleek and well-proportioned while 

maintaining her strong sense of 

identity and power. 

Boat Lagoon Yachting – 

Princess Yachts SEA

Boat Lagoon Yachting, was once 

again the largest exhibitor at the 

Singapore Yacht Show with an 

extensive line-up, with something 

for every cruising experience and 

budget, for both charter, or purchase. 

The company’s 13-strong line up, 

of which 11 were Princess Yachts, 

included the new Princess S60 and 

Princess 49, both models made their 

Asian debut.


Simpson Marine, one of SYS’ longeststanding 

exhibitors returned to the 

Show with several leading brands 

including the Beneteau Oceanis Yacht 

62 and the Beneteau Gran Turismo 

46 both of which made their Asian 

premiere. The Lagoon 620 Essence 

and the Monte Carlo 6 both made 

their Singapore debuts, while firmfavourite, 

the Lagoon 450 was also 

on display. 

Charley’s Premiere 

– Echo Yachts 

The 46m tri-deck catamaran Charley 

made her world premiere at SYS 

having recently been delivered to 

her owner by Echo Yachts. Equipped 

with a wide array of tenders and toys, 

a touch-and-go helicopter pad, dive 

store, decompression chamber and 

specialist sonar equipment for wreck 

diving expeditions, she is the largest 

composite resin infused vessel to be 

built in Australia to date. 

Ferretti Group 

In partnership with its local dealer, 

Hong Seh Marine, the Ferretti Group 

showcased five yachts at SYS, three 

of which made their regional debut; 

the brand-new Ferretti 450, the 

Ferretti 700 and the Pershing 5X, 

alongside the Riva Venere 75 and 

Riva 56. With Ferretti’s biggest ever 

display at the Singapore Yacht Show 

there was certainly something for 

everyone! 


Hong Seh Marine 

Long-time supporter of SYS, and 

resident of ONE°15 Marina Sentosa 

Cove, Hong Seh Marine presented 

some of Italy’s finest production 

boats. They displayed a wide-range 

of the Ferretti Group brands’ pleasure 

vessels alongside the Cranchi Z35 

which made her Asian debut, as did 

the unsinkable legend, Boston Whaler 

370 Outrage. 

Leopard Catamarans 

Leopard Catamarans returned with 

four vessels, making this edition of 

SYS their largest showing to date. 

A testament to the brand’s strength 

and popularity in the South East 

Asian market, Leopard Catamarans 

showcased the Leopard 40 sailing 

and the 45 Powercat both of which 

made their regional premieres. In 

addition, two new models were 

also on display, the 48 Sail and 51 

Powercat. 

Sunseeker 

We welcomed Sunseeker back to SYS 

with an on-water hospitality lounge 

and the Manhattan 55. Visitors had 

the chance to experience the finest 

in British craftsmanship first hand, 

and relax in their expansive lounge to 

learn about the full range of models 

available.

Azimut 

Azimut Singapore returned to SYS 

with a prominent central location 

in the marina to display a range of 

yachts from 43ft to 95ft. Azimut’s 

five-strong line-up included the 

Azimut 95, which made its debut at 

the Show and she proved to be a real 

head-turner. 

Sunreef Yachts 

Sunreef Yachts returned once again 

with another premiere! This year 

together with the Sunreef Supreme 

68 Eagle Wings, we saw the premiere 

of the custom Sunreef 62. The 

Sunreef 62 Annette 2, a universal sail 

catamaran provided both luxury and 

exceptional sailing performance. She 

was ordered by a Singaporean owner 

and boasts generous living spaces 

and a contemporary marine look. 

SG Boating 

and Maritimo 

Long-time supporters of SYS, SG 

Boating returned with a line-up of 

prestigious Asian premiers including 

the Pursuit 335, Maritimo 70 and 

47 and Searay 260 and 190. The 

company is the official Maritimo 

dealer, so teamed up with the yard to 

present the two Maritimo premieres 

together. 


The Galeon 460 

Showcased at SYS for the first time, 

the Galeon 460 was presented by 

Asia Marine. 

A yacht at the forefront of innovation 

technologies, charting a new 

direction for modular luxury crafts, 

this boat featured an adjustable 

sundeck, a rotating cockpit area 

and great entertainment space, she 

certainly sparked interest among 

show visitors! 

Ocean Emerald 

M/Y Ocean Emerald, the 41m charter 

yacht which featured in the cult film, 

Point Break, appeared at SYS for 

the first time. With her minimalist 

interior, oversized sundeck, Jacuzzi 

and retractable swim platform, she 

was a major social focus with all of 

the parties that took place on board 

every night. 

Riviera & Reel Torque 

Riviera, in partnership with Reel 

Torque Yachts in Singapore exhibited 

the Riviera 57 Enclosed Bridge and 

the Riviera 54 Sport Yacht which 

made her Asian premiere at SYS.

The APYC is the number one occasion in Asia for marine leisure 

industry professionals to meet, talk, be informed, and exchange 

views. A series of presentations and forums with speakers from 

Europe, the UK, Australia and countries within the ASEAN region 

covered the state of the yachting industry in Asia. Discussions to the 

further development of the industry and how this may be effected, 

from governmental policies and concerns to matters of private 

infrastructure. 

In between the formal sessions, delegates took the opportunity to 

network – which is just as important as listening to presentations. 

APYC is Asia’s top source and vehicle for dissemination of

The two-day Asia Boating Forum, presented in association with 

ICOMIA, provided a well-focused snapshot of the current state of 

the boating industry throughout Asia – an area bigger than the 

Mediterranean and the Caribbean combined. Speakers came from 

Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam. Delegates also discussed 

pan-regional topics including pollution and regulation, and the 

developmental role of Marine Industry Associates, with particular 

reference to governmental communication. 

The Asia Boating Forum provides the marine industry with a unique

business development in Asia.
