Recurring daily - Mercer Botanic Gardens. The arboretum and botanic
gardens are divided by Aldine Westfield Road. On the east side is the
botanic gardens where over 20 acres of beautifully maintained gardens
feature bamboo, color displays, daylilies, endangered species, ferns,
gingers, herbs, tropicals, to name a few. The east side also has an extensive
walking trail system, a remembrance Walk for memorials and honorariums,
ponds, a visitors’ center, courtyard plaza, plus much more. The arboretum
on the west side of Aldine Westfield features two playgrounds, a picnic area
nestled in a woodland setting with 58 picnic tables, two barbecue pavilions,
hickory bog, boardwalk, cypress swamp, maple collection and several
miles of walking trails that wind through beautifully preserved woodlands.

bucolic Town Green Park in The Woodlands, September 9 th and 10 th ! For
two full days Town Green Park and the promenade will be filled with over

September 14 th - Kathrine G. McGovern Opening Night Collage.
Celebrate the official grand opening of the Kathrine G. McGovern College
of the Arts at the University of Houston! The Opening Night Collage
provides an arts-filled evening at the UH campus, featuring open studio
tours at the School of Art and performances by the Moores School of Music
and School of Theatre & Dance. There will be arts activities throughout

September 15 th - The Last Summer Music Festival at Four Seasons

September 15 th -17 th - Polish Harvest Festival at Our Lady of
Czestochowa Church, 1731 Blalock, Houston, TX 77080. The festival runs
on tickets. Tickets are good for purchase of food, refreshments, pastries
and wristbands for children zone. No cash accepted at the above stations.
Tickets can be purchased in one of three ticket stations located at the
Festival Gate and around the stage. Admission for adults is $5, children
under 12 and senior citizens above 65 are free. Festival tickets are $2.50

September 16 th - Salsa Y Salud. Texas’ biggest live Salsa and
Dance show! A fully staged theatrical production features international,
regional and local artists, an original production guaranteed to make you
dance! Salsa y Salud combines high energy music with soulful dancing
and specially arranged music...many of the show’s selections being
world premieres. Original choreography and a cast of over 40 make this a
memorable evening for the entire family! This is a ticketed event for the

September 22 nd -24th - The First Annual Houston Tattoo Arts
Convention. Twenty-year veteran tattoo convention organizers and
promoters, Villain Arts, will be bringing their World Famous, star-studded,
traveling Tattoo Convention to Texas, appearing in Houston this Fall. The
exhibition boasts hundreds of the finest professional tattooers, tattoo

September 29 th -30 th - Galveston Island Shrimp Festival. This festival
