Area Course Title Start Date Duration Time Venue <strong>Go</strong> Cook Cakes for Beginners Wednesday 27th September 6 weeks 6pm-9pm Baltic Campus During this six-week course you’ll learn the basics as well as insider pro-tips to cake baking, ensuring you’re able to dazzle friends and family at your next celebration. Bakes will cover seasonal cakes, birthday and celebration cakes, how to make the best cupcakes and cake decoration. Each week you will learn how to create a different master piece which will build your skills to be able to bake at home for those special occasions. During this course you will achieve a NOCN Level 1 Award in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development (QCF). <strong>Go</strong> Cook Cooking from Around the World Thursday 28th September 6 weeks 6pm-9pm Baltic Campus During this six-week course you will learn how to plan, prepare and serve different dishes inspired by countries around the world including Thailand, India and Spain. A practical course with lots of hands-on cooking, you’ll have the chance to experiment with new cooking styles and flavours, learn about the basic ingredients used in traditional meals and learn how to plan a menu that will tease any taste buds. This course is accredited and you’ll work towards a NOCN Level 1 Award in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development (QCF). <strong>Go</strong> Cook Cakes & Bakes Mon/Tues/Wed October 23rd, 24th and 25th 1 week 10am- 4pm Baltic Campus Step into our industry-standard training kitchens at Baltic Campus for three days of baking. Covering classic cakes, breads and pastries we’ll help you to develop your skills so you can dazzle your friends and family with home made treats for everyday and special occasions. We’ll also share some essential kitchen health and safety. This course is accredited and you’ll come away with a NOCN Level 1 Award in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development (QCF). <strong>Go</strong> Cook Health and Safety and Food Safety Awareness in Catering Monday 25th September 6 weeks 6pm-9pm Baltic Campus ALL COURSES ARE FREE. This practical course will provide you with an introduction to health and safety and food safety in a catering environment. The course will cover safe food storage, food handling, avoiding cross contamination, food safety management systems and the importance of stock rotation. This course is ideal if you’re already working in a kitchen or catering environment and want to add to your skills, if you’re a small business looking to upskill staff or an individual hoping to get a job in the catering sector.
