over as the OPPO F3 Red Limited Edition is now coming in the Philippines. It will
be initially available at the SM Aura OPPO Concept Store on the 12th of August,
followed by the release at other OPPO Concept Stores and exclusive online store
Lazada.
The OPPO Philippines Facebook page received an overwhelming feedback to the
new color variant of the OPPO F3 when it was teased early August 2017. The teaser
post reached more than 3,000 shares and 3,500 comments in less than 3 days,
while other materials and videos received similar results.
Embracing a fierce red color, the OPPO F3 Red is the ideal smartphone for the
expressive consumer. As a color that represents flare and attitude of being fierce,
the F3 Red captures the heart of customers who desires for a smartphone that
can stand out among the rest. Additionally, the OPPO F3 Red is one of the very few
smartphones in the market with such premium red color and metal finish.
The OPPO F3 is a dual-selfie camera smartphone that can let customers experience
wider selfies and include more people on a groufie. Additionally, it has 4GB of RAM
for multi-tasking and generous 64GB of storage for apps, photos, and videos; all in a
sleek metal body and 5.5” Full HD screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Meet Samsung Galaxy Note 8,
The Best in the World Again?
Samsung just made the Galaxy Note 8 official, the 2017 version of the company’s
well-received high-end phablet series with S Pen stylus for creativity.
Written & Photos by #Villager Peter Jan Icogo of GizGuide.com
Basically, the Galaxy Note 8 is equipped with the very best of what Samsung has to offer
on a smartphone yet. It has the premium metal and glass body with water and dust
resistance, 6.3 inch Infinity Display, and top-notch overall specs. It’s also the very first
Samsung phone equipped with a dual camera setup. Sounds fun right?
Customers who will purchase the OPPO F3 Red Limited Edition on-site at the SM
Aura Concept Store will receive a special gift of an Olike Powerbank and Olike
Wireless Sports Earphone worth Php1,200. The offer is only available on the grand
opening of the SM Aura Concept Store on August 12, 2017 and until stocks last.
“Our new OPPO F3 Red Limited Edition smartphone is our offering to our customers
who clamor for a more stylish and stand out smartphone. Aside from the premium
red color and unique packaging, we offer the smartphone at the same price of
our current OPPO F3.” said Eason de Guzman, OPPO Philippines Public Relations
Manager.
The OPPO F3 Red Limited Edition will be available on August 12, 2017 at OPPO
MEET SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 8
As expected, the Galaxy Note 8 arrived with a stunning Gorilla Glass 5 protected glass
sandwiched metal frame with sleek and smooth curves all over. The position of the
fingerprint scanner behind is still awkward though.
What’s interesting here is its size. Like its Galaxy S8 / Galaxy S8+ siblings with 18:9:5
screen aspect ratio, the Galaxy Note arrived in a smaller than expected form factor for
a phablet. Even if it has a HUGE 6.3 inch WQHD screen, the body of this phone has the
same size of most 5.7 and even some 5.5 inch screened smartphones. It’s the effect of its
stunning 18:9:5 screen aspect ratio that has very slim top, bottom, and side bezels. As a
result, the phone is easy to hold even if it is a phablet!
Moreover, the handset packs IP68 water and dust resistance. It means that the device is
protected from 1.5 meters of fresh water for up to 30 minutes.
BEASTLY HARDWARE!
On the hardware part, it’s basically the Galaxy S8+ with more RAM and smaller storage
and battery capacity. It has the powerful 2.3 GHz 64 bit Exynos 8895 octa core processor
built under the 10nm process paired with 6 GB RAM, 64 GB expandable storage, and 3,300
of fast charging battery.
We don’t know why they made the battery capacity smaller coming from the 3,600 mAh of
Galaxy S8+, knowing Samsung, they know how to make battery efficient devices. Also, in
other parts of the world, the Note 8 has a 128 GB variant.
Let’s hope that Samsung Mobile Philippines will consider to bring it here.
THE ULTIMATE DUAL CAMERA!
Going to the camera part, the Galaxy Note 8 is dubbed as the “Ultimate Dual Camera” on a
smartphone today.
This machine is loaded with a dual camera setup behind, a first from the company. It
includes the same great 12 MP f/1.7 RGB sensor with DSLR grade Dual Pixel focus and
multi-frame tech. It’s paired with another 12 MP f/2.4 telephoto lens for 2x optical or
lossless zoom.
It’s also the first smartphone in the world to have Dual OIS for super stabilized photos
and videos on a mobile device. It even has the “Live Focus” mode which can blur the
background (bokeh effect) while taking the photo that’s even adjustable after taking the
photo.
For selfies, it has the same 8 MP f/1.7 w/ AF, wide angle lens, and screen flash. The initial
shots we took, we are very impressed on the stability and speed of focus of this phone.
Colors are amazingly very lively and it is stunning in detail for a smartphone. It can even
easy take photos with deep bokeh on auto mode.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be on pre-order starting September 8 to 17, 2017 on
partner stores and retailers including Smart, Globe, Abenson, Lazada, Argomall, Samsung
Experience stores, and etc. It’s priced at PHP 49,990 which is PHP 4K higher than the
Galaxy S8+.
Now, it’s time to test if price is right and check if this Note is the best in the world again.
