The Yitzhak Rabin
Fellowship in Post
Graduate Democracy
Studies
The Yitzhak Rabin Foundation recently
partnered with The Hebrew University of
Jerusalem to establish the Yitzhak Rabin
Fellowship in Post Graduate Democracy
Studies at the university. Generous support
from the Rabin Foundation created this
prestigious research fellowship, which
constitutes a living legacy to an Israeli
leader whose efforts served to advance
democracy. “It has been 20 years since
Rabin was assassinated. His legacy can only
continue to thrive if we educate Israel’s
youth on democracy,” said Professor
Reuven Hazan.
The first Rabin Fellow is Ofir Hadad,
who graduated Magna Cum Laude
from Hebrew University’s Amirim
Interdisciplinary Honors Program and
received an LLB in Law. Hadad, who has
been mentored by Professor Menachem
Hofnung, chairman of the Department
of Political Science, studies multiple
aspects of Israel’s immigration policy
regarding Palestinians, taking into account
the nation’s security policies and its
commitment to human rights.
