Bott saw the home side through. Elsewhere in the Vase Midland
Premier League Uttoxeter Town defeated Gornal Athletic 4-1 whilst
Bromyard were trounced 7-1 by WMRL Premier side Cradley Town.
With most Premier Division teams in FA Vase action there were
only two games in the Premier. Black Country Rangers moved into
third spot with a 3-1 home win against Dudley Sports, Shaquille
McDonald opened the scoring before a 65 th minute equaliser but
late goals from Lee Smith and Tobias Archer secured the three
points for Rangers. In the only other League game Wednesfield
moved up to sixth spot with goals from Kieran Cooke and Josh
Jones.
In Division Two Warstone Wanderers and Sikh Hunters are both
setting the Division alight with 6 consecutive wins from their
opening 6 games so it will be a thriller this Saturday and
someone’s “0” has got to go, when the two meet at Aldersley
Leisure Village. Wanderers lead the Division courtesy of goal
difference which was supplemented with an 8-0 win at AFC
Bridgnorth Development. With former Darlaston players Ben
Lawley, Tyrone Atkinson and Daryl Westwood in their ranks
Hunters have also made a blistering start Reece Bennett (2) Justin
Nisbett and Hinesh Patel amongst the goals in a 4-0 home win
against Shropshire based Rock Rovers.
Most of the league newcomers continue to struggle in the higher
standard of football. The bottom four positions are occupied by
new boys AFC Bridgnorth Development, Oldbury United, Ludlow
Town and Church Stretton. A late Shane Trussell equaliser for AFC
Bilbrook denied Ludlow their first win of the season. Gornal Colts
are also unbeaten after 5 games after trouncing Oldbury United 7-
3 whilst Wonder Vaults with former Darlaston Players Dave Lewis
and Lewis Wemm amongst their ranks, were comprehensive 7-1
winners against Church Stretton.
Elsewhere Wolverhampton United maintained their unbeaten
record with a hard fought 1-0 win away at Market Drayton
Reserves, AFC Wednesbury and AFC Broseley ended goalless and
goals from Jordan Worton Guy and Ash Walker secured FC
Darlaston a home point against Bewdley Town Reserves.
