President Andy’s Mystery Run
September 12-15, 2017

The Central Valley Corvette Club was
chartered in 1991 for the owners of the only
real AMERICAN sports car, the awesome
CORVETTE. It's a social organization with
activities that provide enjoyment for the true
Corvette lover.
MONTHLY MEETINGS ARE HELD
AT 6.30 P.M. ON THE 3 RD TUESDAY
OF EVERY MONTH AT YOSEMITE
FALLS CAFE, 4278 W. ASHLAN AVE,
FRESNO CALIFORNIA. INTERESTED
CORVETTE ENTHUSIAST ARE
MORE THAN WELCOME TO
ATTEND THE MEETINGS AND MEET
OUR MEMBERS.
Club activities include monthly meetings,
car shows, weekend Club activities,
overnighters, picnics, road rallies, summer
cruises, holiday get-to-gathers and more!
Eligibility for membership in CVC is
defined in Article III, section 1 of the
bylaws in part as follows: "Membership in
Central Valley Corvettes shall be open to all
Corvette owners who are sponsored by a
member in good standing. Additionally, a
prospective member must, within a three
month period, attend two consecutive
meetings, participate in two club sanctioned
social activities, pay current membership
dues and initiation fees, and be approved by
two-thirds vote of membership present at a
general membership meeting by secret
ballot.
Sponsors shall be responsible for advising
prospective member of results. All members
must submit proof of personal insurance in
accordance with California State Law upon
application for membership, and all
members must be a member of the
association providing club liability insurance
for CENTRAL VALLEY CORVETTES.
A prospective member who does not have a
sponsor will be provided one by the
membership committee. Non-members may
not participate in more than three meetings
or two sanctioned activities as per CVC
Bylaws.
CVC membership dues are $67.00 plus an
initiation fee of $35.00. Membership entitles
two members at the same address voting
privileges at meetings (provided they are in
good standing) and membership rights.

…a word from our President!
Hi Corvetter’s:
Well the mystery tour is over. I hope
everybody had a great time. We had 18
cars. We went to Ben Lomond above
Santa Cruz. We had a train ride in the
Redwoods. We had a B.B.Q. with half a
chicken, beans and salad, then roasted
marsh-mellows. Then took a walking
tour in the Redwoods, to walk off the
big lunch. What a great time. Connie,
Debbie, Frieda and Darlene set up the
Hospitality room.
We had ice cream Sunday’s, candy and
lots of dips & foods. We played games
until 11:30. A special thanks to Keith and
Debbie for all their hard work! And to
Frieda and my beautiful wife for all their
hard work! Connie wanted a special
hospitality and I think she got the job
done. We had a beautiful spot to stay in
the Redwoods to relax and swim in the
pool. Best part of all is we went with
good friends!! Love you all.

General Meeting Minutes
September 19, 2017
The General Meeting was called to order by
President Andy Anderson at 6:35pm.
Minutes from the August meeting were
read. There being no corrections, Leigh
Ann Severance made a motion to accept
the minutes as read. David Dukes
seconded.
Dick Johnson gave the Treasurer’s report.
The bank balance is healthy and the
accounting is finishing up for the Mystery
Run. The raffle was a bit tamer this month,
bringing in ONLY $252.00. It was decided
to hold the raffle for the 2 nd CB at the
October meeting. We had 2 lucky winners
of $50 bills but Terry forgot to note the
winners. Congratulations, whoever you
are.
VP of Public Relations, Charlotte Renna,
welcomed our newest members, Jim and
Peggy Bandy to the club. Diane Tjerrild
brought her guest Gina Estrada to her 2 nd
meeting. Other guests were Roger &
Valerie Merit. They don’t have a car… yet
but are in the process. We also welcomed
Charlie & Deb West to their 1 st meeting.
Charlie let us know how they acquired their
1999 Torch Red C5 that they have had for
2 years. They won it in a raffle in Atlanta,
Georgia! We celebrated 431 years of
birthdays and 139 years of Anniversaries.
Charlotte ended asking everyone to find
the Mystery Spot bumper sticker as they
leave tonight.
VP of Activities, Dick Danielsen mentioned
several runs and activities are planned for
the rest of the year. If you’re a member of
this club, you can’t say you are bored.
Reminder that signup sheets usually tell
you where to meet and at what time. Any
questions, you can call Dick on his house
phone or shoot him an e-mail.
Gary Pflepsen handed out nomination
forms for next year’s Board. He will hand
them out again next month and then we
will vote in November. Chuck Laningham
found 2 badge violators. Debbie Garrison
let us know that Dave Dawson has been
having challenges with his heart while
recuperating from his broken hip. All the
Alaskan Cruisers returned safely. Haven’t
heard too many stories.

New Business: None
The next Board meeting will be Tuesday,
September 26 th at Dick Danielsen’s home.
The next General meeting will be the 3 rd
Tuesday (October 17) of the month.
There being no old business or new
business, Mike Lebda made a motion to
adjourn the meeting. Diane Hayes
seconded. Meeting adjourned at 7:34pm

A little sad new to start my report past members Craig and Sandie Viau lost their
grandson Anthony this month. He was 21 and passed away September 5 after a long
battle with cancer. Several couples from the club attended the services, Anthony
sounded like a wonderful young man and will be dearly missed by friends and family.
Joyce sent us some news about she and Ed. Ed took around ambulance ride to Clovis
Community suffering from a severe urinary tract infection. Spent a week in the hospital,
then got another ambulance ride to Horizon Health. He will be there doing physical
therapy trying to get his strength back to be able to walk again. Joyce’s return of bladder
cancer was not welcome news, has had surgery again and will be receiving 6 weeks of
immunotherapy. Please keep them in your prayers.
We also received an update on Dave Dawson. Lupe called to let us know that after Dave
is now in rehab after suffering what they thought was a seizure and ended up being
problem with his heart. He had a pacemaker implanted and although he is weak the
pacemaker seems to be helping. Dave’s son has been helping Lupe with Dave’s care. She
wanted to Thank everyone all for the cards and phone calls, your thoughts and prayers
are greatly appreciated.
Steve and Lydia spent the last month on a wonderful vacation. They spent 4 days in Rome
then jumped on a cruise ship for 7 days, then flew to Venice, then jumped on another
cruise ship for 12 days. In total they will be vacationing for 30 days, what a wonderful
memory to share. We’ll all be anxious to hear all about it when they get back.
Chuck and Sharon visited with Steve and Lydia at the annual ‘Fig Gig’ an outdoor venue
with music and dancing. And remarked about how well they can dance. They also saw
Paula Fam while there and danced with her. Reminisced about visiting with Freddy and
Paula in past years and how it was nice to see her there with in the same place with
friends. She told them she was just back from Virginia, visiting her son and daughter-inlaw
and her miracle grandson who is now 2 years old.
Lee and Holly Baumgarten has just returned from a 3 ½ month trip to northern Idaho.
They had been house sitting for Lee’s brother Earl who has been on a dream fishing trip
with friends through Canada and Alaska. He said it was good to be home!

Alaska seems to be the destination spot this last summer, Skip and Vickie Garrison
cruised there with friends in May, Keith and Debbie cruised there with family in June. The
Henenfent’s, Henderson’s, Lebda’s, and Freida and Linda cruised in late August. The day
they got back into port, Kim and Charlie Fosnaugh and family members age 3 through 84
left on the same ship. They were happy to report that they left the rooms clean and they
had a great time and came back well rested. Kim’s back at work and ready for the next
trip! Or so she says!
Keith and I and our 2 dogs Buddy and Buster had a wonderful 29-day RV trip, navigating
through California, Arizona, Texas, Tennessee, visiting friends and family. Spent 10 days
with our son Butch, and grandsons’ Corbin and Carson, visiting Dollywood and their town
of Pikeville, Kentucky. Also took them on a trip to the Ark Encounter in Williamstown.
Keith and I also visited Graceland in Memphis and spent 4 days in Nashville, finished up
by visiting with Keith’s niece and family in Utah and then home. Time went way too fast
there is so much to see in our beautiful USA.
Heard from Becky Helm and she has a new baby, picked her up a couple months ago. Still
working out some issues but she is at an age where we all tend to have age related
issues! Her baby is a C-3, a 1972 Corvette Stingray! Congrats and have fun with your “new
car”!
Gordon and Judy Capurro have sold their house in Clovis and are moving to Napa to be
close to their daughter and family. We will miss them but wish them well and I know they
will enjoy being close to family.
