Let’s Get Cooking at the 2017 Harris County Fair “Food Wrangler Challenge” -
3 rd Annual Harris County Fair “Food Wrangler Challenge” October 19 th , 5- 8:30

Food Wrangler is a chance for youth to show off their culinary skills! Teams
compete for prizes and honors in two age divisions Junior/Intermediate for
grades 3 rd to 8 th and Senior level for youth grades 9 th to 12 th as of September 1,
2017. Registration is $40 per team includes meal for coaches and participates.

BAYOU CITY ART FESTIVAL DOWNTOWN ANNOUNCES
REQUESTS FOR VOLUNTEERS OCTOBER 14-15, 2017
The Art Colony Association, Inc. (ACA) is in need of volunteers for Bayou City
Art Festival Downtown on Saturday and Sunday, October 14-15, 2017.
Volunteers have the option of choosing various roles and shifts for either
or both days. Shifts for Friday afternoon and evening will also be available
for artist check-in and festival load-in. The festival offers volunteers the
opportunity to make new friends and meet artists from around the country.
After every shift, volunteers will be entered in a raffle and have the chance
to win prizes, including gift cards to local restaurants, movie and museum
tickets. All volunteers will receive a t-shirt and be able to enjoy the festival
at no cost before and after their shift. The minimum age to sign up is 13
and group volunteering is also available. Anyone interested in becoming a
volunteer can sign up here. Bayou City Art Festival will be held under the
iconic Houston Downtown skyline, 10 AM - 6 PM. The festival will spotlight
more than 300 artists from 19 different disciplines and benefit local nonprofits.
Online tickets are on sale now until the day of the event at www.
artcolonyassociation.org. Tickets online are $12 for adults and $5 for
children 6-12; children five and under are free. Tickets at the gate are $15 for
adults. Also available online are two-day passes for $20 and family passes
(two adults, two children tickets) for $30. Discounted tickets for Veterans
