BAYOU CITY ART FESTIVAL DOWNTOWN ANNOUNCES<br />
REQUESTS FOR VOLUNTEERS OCTOBER 14-15, <strong>2017</strong><br />
The Art Colony Association, Inc. (ACA) is in need of volunteers for Bayou<br />
City Art Festival Downtown on Saturday and Sunday, <strong>October</strong> 14-15,<br />
<strong>2017</strong>. Volunteers have the option of choosing various roles and shifts for<br />
either or both days. Shifts for Friday afternoon and evening will also be<br />
available for artist check-in and festival load-in.<br />
The festival offers volunteers the opportunity to make new friends and<br />
meet artists from around the country. After every shift, volunteers will be<br />
entered in a raffle and have the chance to win prizes, including gift cards<br />
to local restaurants, movie and museum tickets. All volunteers will receive<br />
a t-shirt and be able to enjoy the festival at no cost before and after their<br />
shift. The minimum age to sign up is 13 and group volunteering is also<br />
available. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can sign up here.<br />
Bayou City Art Festival will be held under the iconic Houston Downtown<br />
skyline, 10 AM - 6 PM. The festival will spotlight more than 300 artists<br />
from 19 different disciplines and benefit local non-profits. Online tickets<br />
are on sale now until the day of the event at www.artcolonyassociation.<br />
org. Tickets online are $12 for adults and $5 for children 6-12; children five<br />
and under are free. Tickets at the gate are $15 for adults. Also available<br />
online are two-day passes for $20 and family passes (two adults, two<br />
children tickets) for $30. Discounted tickets for Veterans and Seniors will<br />
be available at the gate.<br />

<strong>2017</strong> HARRIS COUNTY FAIR<br />
“FOOD WRANGLER CHALLENGE”<br />
3 rd Annual Harris County Fair “Food Wrangler Challenge” <strong>October</strong> 19 th ,<br />
5- 8:30 PM at TX A&M AgriLife Extension, 3033 Bear Creek Drive, Houston,<br />
TX 77084. Food Wrangler is a chance for youth to show off their culinary<br />
skills! Teams compete for prizes and honors in two age divisions Junior/<br />
Intermediate for grades 3 rd to 8 th and Senior level for youth grades 9 th to<br />
12 th as of September 1, <strong>2017</strong>. Registration is $40 per team includes meal<br />
for coaches and participates. Register now on Eventbrite. Deadline is<br />
<strong>October</strong> 10 th . Youth participants must be a member of a Harris County<br />
FFA or FCCLA groups or a Harris County 4-H member. Rules are posted on<br />
