for the Trancas Riders
and Ropers and mother of
Harper Effertz and Sydney
Latta-Brown, was also on
hand to answer questions.
“This is a family affair,”
she said. “We used to run
Malibu Pony Club while it
was a U.S. Pony Club. My
kids grew up here.”
The value of being
around the horses and
bringing the community
into the classes has the
benefit of easing apprehensions
and introducing
the bonding and calmness
in the presence of these
graceful creatures.
On Oct. 7, the Trancas
Riders and Ropers were
to offer a dressage clinic
with Shayne Dante, a
United States Dressage
Federation bronze and
silver medalist. Later this
month, on Oct. 22, the
group will hold its Shrimp
Show featuring costumed
riders and horses, and
more.
