Waterford Estates Retirement Community
Back in September, Waterford
Estates Retirement Community
hosted a special Spaghetti
Dinner Fundraiser for
an extra special cause: the Alzheimer’s
Association.
This wonderful evening included
a delicious spaghetti
dinner prepared by their very
own expert chefs, as well as a
raffle and activities for children
which included face painting
and crafts.
The success of this event is
attributed to the hardworking
staff at Waterford Estates
and proceeds from this event
totaled over $4,700. All of
which were donated to the Alzheimer’s
Association, which
“advances research to end Alzheimer’s
and dementia while
enhancing care for those living
continues fight against Alzheimer’s
with the disease.” According to
Alzheimer’s Association, Alzheimer’s
disease is the sixth
leading cause of death in the
US, affecting 1 in 3 seniors.
Alzheimer’s and dementia are
a concern facing many seniors
today, and Waterford Estates
is committed to doing everything
they can to support this
worthy cause. Later this year,
the Waterford Estates team will
participate in the Walk To End
Alzheimer’s.
Waterford Estates Community
Relations Director Cara
Schnayer has an additional
personal motivation for raising
money for Alzheimer’s disease.
“My dad, Fred – such a great
guy – was the youngest of 13
children born during the Depression,”
Schnayer said. “He
accomplished amazing things
in his life, and we lost him to
vascular dementia.
“As I think back on it, he was
gone long before he ever physically
left this world. I hope
one day that there are medical
miracles for Alzheimer’s, vascular
dementia and all forms of
memory loss. Somehow fundraising
for this cause feels like
fighting back!”
The Waterford Estates team
understands everything that is
involved in caring for senior
adults and they are here to help
you navigate the decisions required
to provide the best care
for you or your loved one.
