WELCOME...
...to the Spring 2017 edition of Village Voice...
Lighter days, birds, flowers and blossom in
evidence - it must be Spring! It's not just nature
emerging from hibernation, village life becomes
more active - we have reports of upcoming
events to look forward to, and take part in.
Spring is a change that most of us look
forward to, many feel less welcoming of the
changes as a consequence of the major
infrastructure changes to our environment as a
result of the local plan.
Regular readers of VV will be aware of the
various planning issues, which if all were
implemented, will radically change not only the
face of our villages for ever, but also the
experience of living here. If this is something
you care about, please read carefully the articles
in VV about the local plan, and keep up to date
by going to the P&TGRS website - www.
pennandtylersgreen.org.uk for the latest news
www.pennandtylersgreen.org.uk
Village Voice April/May 2017
and updates. The P&TGRS will be holding their
annual AGM on 19th May 2017 - to which
everyone is welcome - see insert for details.
This is a great opportunity to be updated on
proposed changes. Local counsellors and MPs
have been invited, and will be available to
answer questions informally over drinks.
Other Village events are currently being
planned - notably the Penn 7 & Super Fun Run,
in June- now is the time to start training, and our
woodlands provide a fantastic place to walk, jog
or run. You will see on Page 37 that Bill Sadler
has written about a plan to survey bird activity
on the Common. A meeting will take place in
the Barnes Room, Village Hall on Monday 3
April, at 7.30 p.m. If this is something you
might be interested in helping with- do go along
to the meeting to learn more.
Finally, an appeal to all residents concerned
about the various planning issues. Be aware that
the publication of the new government white
paper has affected the Wycombe DC local plan
timings, and that Chiltern DC (& South Bucks
DC) are running at least 6 months behind WDC.
Yes - because Penn & Tylers Green comes
under 2 planning areas, it means residents need
to be prepared to lobby both district councils on
the same issues at different times!
Please be aware of this - and if you feel
strongly - be prepared to make your views
known more than once. Up to date news and
deadlines to act will be updated on the
P&TGRS website and Facebook page - please
keep checking for details. Happy Easter to all VV
readers, Cathy O'Leary VV Editor
