Eating at the Embassy is a
sumptuous trip to India
… although it is quite a cosmopolitan establishment, the proprietor speaks of
how the idea is total immersion of the customer in Indian culinary culture
For nine years now, the recently revamped
Embassy Restaurant & Bar at Riverwalk
has been Gaborone’s go-to location for
people looking to quell their craving for
authentic Indian cuisine.
Serving primarily Northern Indian
food, the Embassy is one of only a few
restaurants at Riverwalk that have stood
the test of time. Looking back at the
history of restaurants that have come and
gone at the upmarket mall, it is necessary
to recognise the staying power of the
family-owned and operated restaurant in
such a cut-throat sector.
On a fine spring day, inBusiness
Magazine made a culinary expedition
to the Embassy to savour the flavour
of authentic Indian food. We were
welcomed by a very hospitable Isha Suri,
owner of Embassy Restaurant & Bar, as
well as the restaurant’s jovial manager,
