CLASSICAL MYSTERY TOUR The world’s premier Beatles Tribute, CLAS- SICAL MYSTERY TOUR, will highlight the season on March 17, 2018 at 2pm. This concert presents nearly thirty Beatles tunes played by the band with a live orchestra. They’ve performed with many major symphonies and now CLASSI- CAL MYSTERY TOUR is coming to Temecula. MEDITERRANEAN ODYSSEY MEDITERRANEAN ODYSSEY will feature two Spanish Dancers, on España Cani and Lady of Spain, April 14, 2018 at 2pm. A rare treat, the symphony will perform Casablanca Suite, Lawrence of Arabia, and Roman Carnival Overture and feature the Winner of the 2018 Young Artist Competition. CHAMPIONS CHAMPIONS on May 19, 2018 at 2pm, will showcase the Symphony & Chorus on Verdi’s crown jewel, the Triumphal March from Aida with five opera soloists. Enjoy selections from Spartacus, Princess Leia’s Theme in honor of actress Carrie Fisher, and the theme from Magnificent Seven! Veterans have the option to request free admission as the Symphony features Fanfare for Life by Vietnam Veteran and composer Kimo Williams. PATRIOTIC SALUTE The Symphony will perform a Patriotic Salute on November 11 at 6pm for the City of Temecula on Veterans Day to a large crowd of over 1,000 people. Theater & Arts THEATER IN HEMET HHT ANNOUNCES FIRST FOUNDATION GALA It has been an exciting four years watching the Historic Hemet Theatre come back to life in downtown Hemet. The start was slow (agonizingly slow at times), but word began to spread that there was something going on down at the old movie house and they came to see... Many have lived in the valley for decades and have never been inside the theatre. You can spot them as they walk into the auditorium and their jaw drops. This landmark is not just one of the oldest movie houses in the nation, but it is also one of the most adorable venues you will ever see. Others grew up in the valley and have fond memories of movie classics and “Old Man Martin,” the theatre’s watchful owner. Each of them have stories of first jobs, special dates, and memorable films (one youngster laughing so hard that he broke a tooth!) These days the theatre hosts a series of concerts featuring the top tribute bands in the country. The Beatles, Neil Diamond, Queen, Doobie Bros, The Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Rolling Stones are just a few of the events that have packed the 400-seat auditorium so far this year. The crowds have grown, with lines that fill the street. And the awards have started... 2015 Nonprofit of the Year from the Hemet San Jacinto Chamber of Commerce... 2016 Business of the Year from the San Jacinto Chamber of Commerce... 2017 Best Live Venue from Inland Empire Magazine... Business Woman of the Year for CEO Susan Carrier from the American Business Women’s Association. Now, 200 events and 25,000 patrons later, the verdict is in. This old vintage theatre has something really special and very powerful to offer the Inland Empire. The transformation has been accomplished by the Historic Hemet Theatre Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that has operated the venue under a 5-year lease-to-purchase since 2013. Now the Foundation is closing in on enough funds for a down payment that will secure the purchase of the building so they can continue to preserve this landmark, enrich the community with the arts and stimulate the redevelopment of Hemet’s historic downtown district. FIRST ANNUAL FOUNDATION GALA On December 2, HHT will host its first annual Foundation Gala. Hors d’oeuvres and desserts will be served, leading up to an unforgettable concert event. Dozens of raffle prizes will add to the festivities, including gift cards, trips, concert tickets and Disney Hopper Tickets. Vintage Vegas will feature a tribute to the “Rat Pack,” (Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Frank Sinatra.) Straight from Las Vegas, “The Pack” performs a show filled with the music, comedy, and personality of the classic Vegas trio. It’s a ball of fun from beginning to end, with great comedy, great songs, and non-stop, high-energy entertainment. Tickets for Vintage Vegas are $75 each, available at the Box Office or online at PurplePass.com. Season Ticket holders receive a discounted rate of $65 per person. In addition to concerts, HHT also hosts classic movies, fundraisers and educational programs for local nonprofits as well as rental events.
