LET US NOT LOSE
OUR MISSIONARY...
I was so excited to hear that our
beloved missionaries from Corazon
Puro New York would come
back for a mission here in Cebu
City, Philippines.
The theme of the mission was
“Let us not lose our missionary
joy,” based on Pope Francis’
document Evangelii Gaudium,
and I believe that the Corazon
Puro missionaries delivered
their part in that theme very well
indeed. We began the week by
discerning which gifts of the Holy
Spirit each of us has the greatest
affinity for, and what each of
us needs improvement on. This
activity helped me to understand
who I am on a deeper level.
For me, the highlight of the mission
was the weekend retreat.
During this time of formation, I
and the rest of the Pure Heart
servers received a renewed
resolve in our missions, both as
a group and as individuals, as
we went back to the source of
mission: our love for our Mother
Mary and, of course, Jesus, the
source of all.
This week really changed my
outlook on life, and helped me
improve myself as a missionary,
as a Christian, and as a person.
The presence and wisdom of the
ORAR = FUENTE DE GOZO
1“Si realmente desean
seguir a Cristo, si quieren
que su amor por
él crezca y dure, entonces
deben ser fieles a
la oración. Esta es la
clave para la vitalidad
de su vida en Cristo.”
2
“La
oración no es
solamente pedir
ayuda, también debe
ser caracterizada por
el agradecimiento y la
alabanza, la adoración
y la escucha atenta, pidiendo
perdón a Dios.”
3
“Si
nos miramos
solamente a nosotros
mismos, con nuestras
propias limitaciones
y pecados, rápidamente
damos lugar a la
tristeza y al desánimo.
Pero si mantenemos
nuestros ojos fijos
en el Señor nuestros
corazones se llenan de
esperanza.”
MEETING WITH THE YOUNG PEOPLE OF NEW ORLEANS ADDRESS OF HIS HOLINESS JOHN PAUL II
“Louisiana Superdome” Stadium Saturday, 12 September 1987
• If you really wish to follow Christ, if you want your love for him to grow and last, then you must
be faithful to prayer. It is the key to the vitality of your life in Christ.
• Prayer is not just about asking for help. Prayer should also be characterized by thanksgiving and
praise, by adoration and attentive listening, by asking God’s pardon and forgiveness.
• If we look only at ourselves, with our own limitations and sins, we quickly give way to sadness and
discouragement. But if we keep our eyes fixed on the Lord, then our hearts are filled with hope.
