JOHN FISHER JOINS A NUMBER OF SCHOOLS IN
SUBSCRIBING TO ‘RETURN2PLAY’. THIS SERVICE
HELPS SUPPORT THE SCHOOL, STUDENT AND
PARENTS WHEN STUDENTS ARE RETURNING TO
PLAYING SPORT AFTER CONCUSSION.
As a school we are committed to providing
the best posisble care for our
students. With active youngsters comes
a risk of injury and we are delighted to
have linked up with ‘Return2Play’ to provide
a more robust monitoring system
which communicates to parents, staff
and external clubs.
Coaches are now able to complete an
injury form from their phone using an
App. This will then start the ‘Return2Play’
procedure which will require students to
undertake the required checks.
The School is also working with Bath University
in their national project focussing on rugby
injuries. In return for injury data we receive free
video coverage of some of our games, as well as
the analysis that goes alongside it.
With rugby being played by over 550 students
at John Fisher, we belive we are giving students
the best care and support avaliable and look
forward to working with ‘Return2Play’ and Bath
University for years to come.
The system is excellent for all injuries
but especially for concussion. Students
will need to follow the RFU guidelines
which includes seeing a GP. To make
this easier, parents and carers will be
able to book online virtual appointments
with registered GP’s who can assess the
students and give advice. This removes
the need for taking time off work as they
can be between 6pm-8pm throghout the
week.
Thisn is an additional service costing £25
for a year.
