Why is replacing
Line 3 a better
choice for
the environment?
“ I truly believe pipelines
are the safest way
to transport the product.”
Pak Wong (Provost, AB)
Owner/operator of the Greenhead Motel and Restaurant
I’ve been around oil for 30-something years now.
I have seen how the oil industry has continued to
improve, and how they are more concerned about
the environment than they have ever been. I am a
strong supporter of that. I think if we can get this
product out of the ground in an environmentally
friendly way, that’s a win-win for everybody.
> Replacing the Line 3 pipeline will maintain
the highest safety and environmental
standards, reduce future maintenance
activities, and help ensure the energy
needs of North American energy
consumers are met. Here are some of
the ways we’re making a safe pipeline
even safer:
Using the Best Materials
At Enbridge, the heart of our business is the pipe
in the ground. We insist on using only the best
steel, and the best-made pipe.
Testing Rigorously
During construction, our pipelines undergo
extensive testing—then once in operation,
we monitor them around the clock using a
number of methods providing overlapping and
layered leak-detection capabilities.
Putting Safety First
Millions of North Americans count on the energy
we deliver daily. That’s why there can be no
compromising when it comes to the steps we
take to ensure maximum safety and reliability,
year-after-year.
Proud to be part of Prairie communities for over 68 years.
