June’s Cottage by Briar Hill Designs is a romantic watercolor portrait of lush gardens and climbing 

vines that cascade over white picket fences under warm rays of dancing sunshine. The beautifully 

balanced collection transports you to a simpler time when unspoiled natural beauty was abundant, 

afternoon tea a time-honored tradition and cherished gardens produced prize-winning roses at 

the county fair. True to its horticultural heritage, June’s Cottage is composed entirely of organic, 

floral elements, tossed bouquets and rosebuds. Each pattern appears as though it has been handpainted 

on the fabric. The fresh, bright palette evokes the classic colors of springtime gardens 

with soft touches of yellow to convey sunshine. The prints can be colorfully mixed and matched or 

used in specific color schemes. June’s Cottage offers a fresh take on traditional florals. The timeless 

patterns and cheerful colorations will appeal to quilters of all ages.

Briar Hill Designs was born 

out of a beautiful synergic 

friendship between two selfproclaimed 

fabric lovers, 

Caverly Smith and Julia 

Wentzell. After months of 

dreaming, designing, painting 

and planning, Caverly and 

Julia transformed their vision 

into reality. Caverly Smith 

brings her fine art background to the team having earned 

her Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration from Sheridan College in 

Ontario, Canada. Julia Wentzell is a lifelong sewing enthusiast 

with over 25 years of garment sewing experience. She earned 

her diploma in Costume Studies from Dalhousie University 

in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, where she honed her skills in 

pattern making, fashion apparel, tailoring and 18th century 

apparel construction.

roses, strawberry blossoms, Gerber daisies, hearts, and red gingham tablecloths. Strawberry Pie 

is adapted from Linda’s childhood Redwork embroidered dress. For the perfect accoutrement, 

Flaurie & Finch spoon dollops of sparkly RED metallic on each print. This custom RED metallic

ARABESQUE

The newest addition to RJR’s DigiPrint Series, Arabesque is remarkably distinctive, colorful and 

striking. In designing this range, lead designer Vanessa Stevens was inspired by the bold hues, 

and fascinating flora, textures and tiles of Moroccan Riads in Marrakech and the northern slopes 

of the Atlas Mountains. At the center of the collection is the decorative ombré, Fanciful Flourish, a 

stunning collage of florals, paisleys, butterflies and textures shaded from sun kissed pastels to dark 

jeweled tones. This piece is all about versatility. For a quick and easy wall hanging, simply use the 

ombré in full repeat like a panel, then add borders and binding for a finishing touch. For a more 

dramatic effect, fussy cut the design in pieced blocks or sashing strips. Take a look at the array of

Named after the popular Floribunda rose, this new line from Melanie Testa offers an imaginative 

spin on traditional floral collections. Known for her quirky and ingeniously primitive designs, 

Melanie used a combination of textile paints and low tech equipment like soy wax, stencils and 

stamps to harken the look of block printing. Florals and foliage designs are paired with textures 

to convey a strikingly original modern aesthetic. Colored in a saturated and vibrant mix of

An accomplished textile and 

quilt artist, Melanie Testa 

learned to love fabric and 

sewing at a young age while 

sitting at her grandma’s 

trusty Singer. She has been 

reimagining her everyday 

experiences through artful 

construction ever since. 

Whether printing cloth, 

making quilts or journaling, Melanie’s work enchants with 

its primitivism and captivates by its uncommon styling. Her 

collections convey her passion for mixing flora and texture and 

her unconventional approach to art-making. 

Melanie holds a degree from the Fashion Institute of 

Technology in Textile/Surface Design and exhibits her fiber art 

at various galleries and quilt shows around the country. 

Melanie’s debut line Florabunda! is a colorful amalgam of 

modern roses, tendrils and vines set against an array of textural 

backdrops.

The very first of its kind, the Jinny Beyer Palette is the most comprehensive line of basics available on the market. It 

features 150 high quality tonal designs, created exclusively for quilters, set in a complete spectrum of color. It was 

originally introduced by Jinny Beyer to equip quilters with a collection of tone-on-tone prints to rely upon for the 

backgrounds and basic blenders needed in patchwork design. The Palette fabrics are gradually shaded together 

to educate quilters on how to blend colors and create effective color combinations in quilts, which is why it is very 

important to maintain stock of the entire Palette and keep it shaded and organized by Palette number. Jinny continues 

to update the Palette, keeping the best-sellers, and introducing new patterns to keep it fresh and invigorating. 

The Palette is designed to teach quilters shading techniques and how to carefully blend colors, and shade from one 

color to the next to create harmonious color effects. It is designed to help quilters to overcome the biggest obstacle 

in patchwork design, by helping them to visualize all the colors in a fabric. The Jinny Beyer Palette has revolutionized 

quilting by simplifying color choices, and making it easy to create infinite color combinations. 

Jinny’s system is based on three key ingredients. The first ingredient is shading. It is the colors used to link the color 

groups that create unique dimension. In order to achieve shading, there must be several colors used in a project, and 

those colors must shade together. The second ingredient is a very dark fabric, “the deep dark”. This fabric is a darker 

version of one of the colors already being used. The deep dark is always relative to the colors it accompanies. The final 

ingredient is the accent fabric, a brighter version of one of the colors already being used. 

The Jinny Beyer Palette system is great for quilters who want to develop color confidence quickly and easily without 

studying formal color theory. It teaches quilters to learn how to create a smooth-flowing palette with no jumps from 

dark to light or one color to the next, and teaches the secrets to “coloring” a quilt by shading colors and fabrics 

throughout a quilt.
