the sprouting of leaves, warm weather, and longer days. Our 

new release is filled with the wonder of spring. Each and every 

collection, a beautiful display of diversity and fabulousness. 

The colorations are pulled from the brilliant canvas of the 

nature that surrounds us during this time of year. Take a look 

at what awaits. RJR Studio unveils Newport Place, inspired by 

the stunning dahlia arrangements of my favorite garden spot 

in Newport Beach. Get lost in a daydream over our newest 

Digi Print series, Reverie. From the scintillating scents of flaurie 

& finch, come Serene Spring and Blossom Batiks Sakura, 

a lovely portrayal of Japan’s iconic cherry blossom trees, or 

sakura, which symbolize the evanescence of human life. 

We proudly welcome two new designers, Jami Fingal 

and Lori Gardner Woods. This is the perfect time of year for 

their debut collections. Jamie drew inspiration for Hopscotch 

from her sketchbook, which she carries with her everywhere 

she goes. The result, a brilliant, playful mix of tone-on-tone 

blenders set in every color of the rainbow. Lori’s hand drawn 

bird and garden doodles spring to life in her nature-inspired 

line, Lori’s Art Garden. 

Brenda Ratliff has always been drawn to text print 

fabrics in black and white, which is why she chose this subject 

matter for her new line, Fine Print. Timeless and classic, Fine 

Print is a must-have for any quilter. For magical effects, try 

pairing the text prints with our Cotton Supreme Solids or any 

of the new spring ranges. 

Jinny Beyer takes you outside of the flower box with 

her three amazing new lines, Amber Waves, Casablanca 

Mini Stripe and Miyako. Learn how border prints can better 

define your quilts. Legacy Patterns depicts post-Civil War 

romance with Pioneer Brides. As American men flooded west 

for the new frontier, a disparity of women in their communities

traditional screen printing. We have taken full advantage of this with the Reverie collection. Reverie is 

comprised of photographs, digital images and hand-paintings artfully arranged in a beautiful garden of 

flora and fauna. The collection also has three colors of the ombred Wisp of Light pattern with flowing 

waves of lines. The print will make a spectacular border or sashing around blocks. Along with all of our 

screen prints, RJR’s DIGIPRINT collections are printed in Japan assuring you the best quality in the

Inspired by the frosty air of Kyoto in spring, this collection has subtle silver embellishments throughout 

the four colorways with one neutral focal print that brings everything together. The secondary print 

has three layers of depth in the design creating the look of magnolia blossoms hovering above the 

backgrounds. You will also find cherry blossoms tossed and on branches, two great geometrics, a 

dot and the ever useful rustic shimmer print from Shiny Objects. This 30 piece collection coordinates

A stunning range of 84 bold and bright sku’s, Hopscotch is made up of 11 different prints. This is 

essentially a bright spectrum version of the JB Palette and a seamless replacement for the extremely 

popular Basically Patrick collection that we ran for over two years. We have heard for some time now 

that consumers want bright, bright and bright. This is the perfect collection to feed their need. The range 

of 11 different prints in this collection makes it far better than a typical basics collection as it offers a 

variety of different textures/looks to use throughout a quilt project. Hopscotch also lends itself very well 

to pre-cuts. As such, we will be offering Fat Quarter bundles per color range, Fat Quarter’s in a Big and

MEET JAMIE FINGAL 

A full-time artist, Jamie is an avid illustrator and sewer. Her dream studio, less than a 

song away from her house, is the place she most frequents to draw, sew, paint, and 

sometimes even dream while sprawled out on her red and white polka dot couch! 

Influenced at an early age by her grandmother who taught her to sew, Jamie made 

her first quilt in 1981. It was years later when Jamie took the leap into the world of 

art quilting and earned the nickname, ‘rebel quilter.’ Her innovative style involves 

fusible appliqué by fusing fabrics onto wool-blend felt rather than traditional batting. 

Her wall quilts are filled with bright and whimsical colors. Jamie draws her inspiration 

from her imagination, as well as, textures from what she sees on a walk or while 

shopping at her favorite antique mall. Signature motifs are houses that balance cups 

and saucers on their roofs, faces, flowers, and zippers. Shares Jamie, “My quilts are 

all about having fun. I enjoy mixing textures, embellishments, and layering to create a 

world of my own, allowing my imagination to define reality.” 

Jamie lectures and teaches, and offers intimate studio workshops. She is an 

ambassador for Havel’s Sewing and Mistyfuse. Her work has been featured in 

many books and magazines such as Quilting Arts Magazine. Jamie has two DVDs 

on house making and rebel quilting. She has been a guest on The Quilt Show and 

Quilting Arts TV. Her work is exhibited across the United States in private, public and 

corporate collections.

Inspired by her love of birds and flowers Lori created this collection after doodling the illustrations for 

her new adult coloring book (available through Chameleon Pens). The coloring book would be a great 

add-on item to feature with the fabric in your shop.

The bold and bright colors are reminiscent of stained glass and really pop on the saturated backgrounds.

PIONEER BRIDES

I have always been intrigued with the stories of the pioneers who settled the United States. Even more so the stories of the 

women who risked everything to go west as mail-order brides. Some went out of need, some seeking adventure and some 

just looking for love. When the men were drawn West by the gold rushes, offers of free land and the chance to settle in a new 

territory, they quickly realized they forgot one thing. They were lonely and women were in short supply. One way to bring a 

possible mate was to advertise in publications that specialized in matchmaking. The time frame I focused on for my research 

started before the Civil War in the 1850’s and carried through the early 1900’s. It was estimated after the Civil War there 

were 30,000 single females in the Eastern United States. As with most things the stories had various endings. Many were 

great partnerships that lasted generations while others ended when the two met for the first time never sealing the deal with 

marriage. It is with these stories in mind I designed my fabric line “Pioneer Brides”. The rich browns, blues and reds represent 

the shades found on the prairie and in the mountains the women would have traveled across on the journey west. Several of 

the smaller prints would have been used to make dresses and possibly curtains for their new homes.

Miyako 

Miyako is inspired from my trip to Kyoto, Japan. 

The collection derives its name from one of the 

ancient names used for Kyoto. The patterns all have 

a Japanese influence. The lead design is adapted 

from a vintage Japanese kimono fabric. The border 

design is double mirror-imaged, which makes it ideal 

for fussy cutting and creating kaleidoscope effects 

inside blocks. The red & green colorations are ideal 

for holiday inspired projects. I also included some 

great neutrals, taupes and rich browns, which can be 

used to create a more masculine themed quilt.

CASABLANCA BORDERS

5 new Mini Stripes + 6 Casablanca Big Borders 

The Casablanca Mini Stripe was inspired out of a need for an edging on a stars quilt that Jinny was planning 

made from leftover border stripes she had in her stash. She wanted to achieve the illusion of a diamond, 

but the problem was that she could only accomplish this effect by using the seam allowance in a 

border stripe, and that would be not be an efficient use of the border stripe. So Jinny sat down to design 

something narrow, functional, and most of all efficient, the Casablanca mini stripe took form. Instead of 

using more than 10 yards of border fabric, the mini stripe brought it down to just 2 yards. The mini stripe 

works wonderfully with its companion large border, the Casablanca border, style 2795. It’s also extremely 

versatile. It’s perfect for edging in all sorts of projects, from quilts to accessories. It can also be fussy cut 

and used inside blocks like log cabins, Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses, and in EPP La Passacaglia 

kaleidoscope quilts. The possibilities are endless. Jinny chose five basic color combinations that not 

only can coordinate with her existing large borders, but also with a variety of focals in the marketplace.
