Juliet Cook
Inside an Old Basement
My tongue was pulled out of my mouth.
A red tongue bath
staining an old box.
Broken lights.
Broken bulbs.
Broken glass.
Another broken light blue egg.
Nobody loves you he said.
You might as well suck
the dead baby
bird out.
What did I think he wanted anyway?
Nobody wants all of me.
They just want small pieces.
Tear another part out,
stick it in
another box.
Nobody will look inside
after the blood dries.
