It was created by Jake Attree and Matthew Callaby, two friends who believe that books can be good for children’s bodies as well as their brains. Successfully crowd-funded through Kickstarter where it was named one of the site’s ‘Projects We Love’, the book follows the story of a giant called Ig who’s too big to live in the woods that he has to live on top of them instead. But he’s not up there by himself. Living on top of him, in a town on his tummy, are his pals the Igglees. When Ig wakes up feeling a bit under the weather one morning the Igglees need to pull-together to work out how they’re going to make him better, but can they do it before he sneezes the town into a big mess..? The book comes free with a recipe card so that children can make the same tasty, healthy fruit smoothie (plus two more) that the characters do in the story. Junior Open Exhibition Saturday 25 November - Sunday 21 January 2018 If you know someone aged 15 and under who is a budding artist, why not encourage them to enter our Junior Open Exhibition? The competition is free to enter and selected works are displayed at Hull Maritime Museum between Saturday 25 November and Sunday 21 January 2018. A launch event for the exhibition is taking place on Saturday 25 November in The Studio at Ferens Art Gallery, across the square from Hull Maritime Museum. We accept artworks submitted by - individuals, schools and youth groups. Prizes have kindly been donated by Friends of the Ferens and The Hull and East Riding branch of The Arts Society and are awarded to the best entries in the following three age categories -six and under, seven to 11 and 12 to 15. The day is designed to be great fun but also has a serious message - as many of the people that Charity Link helps can’t afford to keep warm over winter. The day is perfect for schools, workplaces, or for groups of family and friends to join in. Cake sales, raffles or fun scarf themed activities all add to the spirit of the day.
