Christmaaaaas
Favorite Family Traditions: Annual Christmas Caroling Party
through the neighborhoods (what a fun way to dive back
into days of yore!), Dickens on the Strand in Galveston,
cooking for family and friends every year (especially
making decorated chocolate dipped marshmallows and
other chocolate goodies), baking cookies for Santa, and
toy donations for children. Oh, and lest we forget their
beloved visit with Santa at Bass Pro Shop! He always makes
sure to stock up on reindeer food while he’s there!
Funniest Christmas Memory: “One year we were headed to Dickens on the strand and we found out a
cold front was coming into town. I spent the entire evening in our hotel sewing furry capes so the family
would not freeze. It was 27 degrees that year. Because of all the fur, our hotel room looked like a wild
animal was turned loose in there and shed its winter coat.”
Shopping Logistics: This smart mama pays extra on the family bills all year so that at Christmas time, she’s
sitting on a nice credit to use towards presents, festivities and feasts. School book drives and other similar
events are opportune times for Romni to stash away a collection of unique gifts to tuck under their tree.
The Reason for the Season: Christmas time is so special for this family since it brings their families and
friends together, especially by enjoying a number of dinner parties throughout the season.
Auld Lang Syne: “On New Year’s Eve, we usually throw a big party - everyone and the kids are welcome.
We eat and pop fireworks!”
Locale
Morton Ranch - On why they like living there: “We
love the small town feel of Katy but just close enough
to the culture of the big city with all the Museums
30 min away and a beach only 1 hour away. My
husband and I both grew up in Houston/Katy and
the surrounding areas. I am an MCHS Alumni class of
‘92 and my husband is Cy-Fair HS class of ’95. We
love our community and people in it.”

Journey to Bethlehem
December 7-10, 2017
Start your journey here, experience the night hope was born. Journey to
Bethlehem is an outdoor, walk-through drama portraying the birth of Christ.
In 2016, nearly 6,000 guests followed the winding trail, led by experienced
guides, through a series of live action scenes, tracing the journey Mary and
Joseph took centuries ago. Your travels will lead you through the village of
Nazareth, into the camp of the Magi, past the Roman census and open-air
markets of Judea, ultimately ending at the simple manger where Christmas
began and hope was born. For the last fifteen years, Current - A Christian
Church has been presenting this event to the Katy community. Each year
the event grows. With live animals and more than 200 actors in costume,
Journey to Bethlehem, is an annual tradition for many and serves to remind
everyone who participates of the true meaning and impact of Christmas.

Christmas Tree Lighting
Thursday, December 7, 2017, 5-8 PM
Sugar Land Town Square (City Hall Plaza)
15958 City Walk, Sugar Land, TX 77479
The steps of City Hall will light up with holiday cheer and entertainment
as Mr. and Mrs. Claus bring their holiday magic to Sugar Land Town
Square. This event is free and open to the public.
The fun will include holiday crafts and activities, face painting,
performances by local artists and choirs, photos with Santa and food and
beverages available for purchase.
As the night comes to an end, gather with family and friends around the
spectacular 40-foot Christmas tree located in the middle of Town Square
plaza to help Santa and Mrs. Claus usher in the holiday season with the
annual lighting of the tree.
