CRICKET
HIGHFIELDS: November 25 - Highfields
and District Railways Cricket Club Stage 3 Red
team played Metropolitan Easts Hearts team at
Captain Cook number three oval. Both teams with
reduced numbers due to attending Ashes Test in
Brisbane.
Hearts batted first, their innings ending with
five wickets for 35 runs. Highfields bowling best
was Elliot Ferguson and Ryan Fischer both getting
two wickets and Wihan Kruger getting one. Bailey
Caldwell taking two catches as wicket keeper.
Highfields started off with three wickets falling
with just two runs on the board. Elliot Ferguson
and Bailey Caldwell steadied the batting with a
good partnership of 51.
Highfields ended up scoring 4 for 93 after their
20 overs. Elliot Ferguson 41 not out, Bailey Caldwell
20 retired and Thomas Walker 20 not out.

CENTRAL DOWNS: December 3 - At
Bowenville Downlands batted first and made 7 for
218 in 40 overs, thanks to Joe Steer, 58 , Brett Pacey
53, Lindsay Mason 39, Riley Edge not out 29.
Best bowling for Bowenville, Mustafa 3 for 24 off
7, Harry Dhillon 1- 27 off 8 overs, David Connolly
1 for 52 off 7 and Josh Taylor 1 for 52 off 4 overs.
David Connolly made 133 in 71 balls before retiring.
Harry Singh tried to keep up making 59 in
an opening stand of 190 in 19 overs. Bowenville
finished 1-220 in 25 overs. Sam Mason was the
lucky bowler with 1 for 10 off 3 overs.
At Millmerran the visitors Kulpi won the toss
and sent home side in. After being 5 for 35 the
boys fought back to make 127 thanks to Trent
Mullins 39 and Jack McCullough 26 not out.
Brendan Schick took 4-16 off 8 overs and Tyson
Klingberg 4-18 off 5 were the destroyers while
David Sipple 1-10 (5) Nick Spies 1-20 (6) were
other wicket takers. Kulpi made a steady start due
to tight bowling to have one wicket down for 72 at
drinks but went on with it with 10 overs to spare
and no more wickets lost. Jordan Klingberg finished
72 not out. Pittsworth travelled to Oakey and
it was decided to reduce the match to 35 overs and
delay the start. Pittsworth won the toss and batted
and made 3-289 off 35 overs. Mark Holt 87 Michael
Hawkins 83 James Cain 51 and Neel Patel
40 made the runs. Jacob Wikaire 2-39 (7), Jordan
Wikaire 1-35 (6) Oakey in reply managed 92 in

and not as structured
as the traditional
format and people really
enjoyed the idea.
Attendances improved

event, and some surprisingly good scores were
achieved, making one wonder why we have a full
bag of clubs in the first place. No, not serious, today
was an exception. We enjoyed a fun day, leading
up to Christmas, and splendid trophies were
donated by Chris Tannock.
