T3 HORIZONS 2017

Grade 3 - Camp
On Monday the 16th October I
was going to camp for the first time
in my life. In the morning right after
my brother woke me up, I ran out
of my bed and I ran to my mom and
dad’s room to wake them up.
“Dad dad wake up” I said. Right after
he woke up he said to me “Go
and shower now”
Before I could answer my brother
came in and said it was my turn. After
I showered I ran to the car.
When I got to class I gave my meds
to Miss Wellard. I packed the bus
and got on and went to sleep. Then
I woke up and started talking to
Lwazi and Zuzu about games.
We got to camp. I was so happy. I
got out of the bus and got my bag. I
went to the facilitators and they put
us in groups. Ater we went to our
dorms. I was in the buffalo dorm.
lunch. It was great food. I wished I
could have it everyday.
When we had finished eating, we
went back in our groups. We went
to the start of the obstacle course.
Moose told us everything that we
needed to know. We started with
the ropes of death which were
metal. Then we did the log of love
and right after that we had to crawl
into the pit of pain. It was like I was
in minecraft.

We went into the hall. The facilitators
told us their names and the
reasons for their names. After we
learnt their names, the facilitators
put us into new groups. We had to
make war cries. Moose told us to
choose a president. The president
was Ikenna. Then Moose asked
us who wants to paint the flag.
Khashane and Jono painted the flag.
We started thinking of war cries.
We had 3 options. The first suggestion
was from Sizwe and I, and the
last suggestion being from Moose.
We went with Moose’s suggestion.
Then it was time for the language
of the country. Our language was
pig latin. Everything was ready so
we went to the hall. I had to say
what Sizwe was saying but in English.
After all the groups were done we
were told to go and get a hat and
sunscreen. After my camel bag was
filled with water we went to play
volleyball. It was the boys vs the
facilitators and teachers. Volleyball
was super fun. Then it was time for
