The service: Deep cleansing facial<br />
The verdict: Hollywood celebrities count the<br />
Beverly Hills, California outpost, as one of their go-to<br />
spots for a date with French hairstylist José Eber.<br />
Visiting his salon, tucked away at The Address<br />
Montgomerie, was one to check off the list. However,<br />
instead of a glamorous blow-dry and hair treatment, I<br />
opted for a deep cleansing facial, to combat any probable<br />
changes to skin due to weather conditions.<br />
I was taken to the facial room, where I slipped into a<br />
comfortable silk robe and jumped into bed to get my skin<br />
analysed. After washing the face multiple times to rid every<br />
trace of makeup, a bright light shone on my face, with my<br />
skin being tugged and pulled to get a closer look at pores<br />
and requirements. I was told the Laloge Beauty facial would<br />
be ideal, to renew and deeply hydrate the skin. To begin,<br />
the therapist applied a fruit-aroma enzyme peel that<br />
tightened after a few seconds, and was later scrubbed off<br />
with a warm water towel. This was followed by a bacterialcleansing<br />
solution to prep the skin for the crystal-powder<br />
vacuum. I was keen to open my eyes and see the magic<br />
taking place. However, since I couldn’t, I relied on my senses<br />
to feel and imagine. Here’s what happened - crystal powder<br />
comes through the vacuum, and a slight burning sensation is<br />
felt on the area being vacuumed. Dry skin cells are extracted<br />
and mixed with the crystal powders, of which a slight dry/<br />
gritty residue remains on the skin. The small vacuum goes<br />
from your forehead, all the way down to the neck to get rid<br />
of dead skin cells, while allowing skin to be renewed. Skin<br />
renewal is a must – as mentioned by the therapist – as<br />

without it, my skin refuses to soak up daily moisturizer and<br />
serums to let it penetrate through the layers. My face was<br />
cleansed once again with warm water, followed by<br />
blackhead extraction, and a bacterial-preventing ointment.<br />
Serum was then massaged into the skin, followed with an<br />
ice-cooling algae, oat and apple-extract mask that hardened<br />
and peeled off like an Instagram-worthy rubber mask. This<br />
was placed on to soothe, firm, deeply moisturise and<br />
hydrate the skin, and did the job promptly. The treatment<br />
ended with an application of moisturizer, after which my<br />
skin felt absolutely fresh and cleansed.
