Sister of Notre Dame de
Namur, always living a life
that shows she practices
what she preaches. The
faces and names of those
she influenced, came to
know, and grew to love and
who returned her love,
changed through the years
but she remains the same:
steady, clear and true.
Bishop Fenwick High School will long
know the name of Sr. Geraldine Burns and
long feel gratitude for her decades of
dedication and love.

Hundreds of Fenwick’s community
responded immediately. At a reception in
her honor at Fenwick in June, upwards of
$70,000 had already been raised; gifts
continue to be received by the school
reflecting the lasting impact Sr. Geraldine
had upon Fenwick students.

Across the long expanse of life, those of
us eager to learn how to live to the fullest
and be the best we can be, need to see
people who demonstrate what it means to
do the work we're meant to do and be the
people others follow until they find
themselves. Sister Geraldine is one of
those people. And the most treasured
part of Sister Geraldine's story is that she
chose to share all that living, 12,000 days
of it, with the students, faculty and staff of
Bishop Fenwick High School.
