Yet another year has passed within¬ the blink of an eye! Our entire CEC family
thanks you, our loyal clients, for your wonderful support of our fantastic Stable
yard during the past 10 years.
We are also boasting an Equine Student, Claire Lieutier who will be working at
CEC for the next few months completing her practical assignments. She will be
assisting Charlene with her management duties for the next few months.
Please note that our monthly newsletter is also available to read by means of a link
on our WhatsApp group for the stables. If you have not yet been added – please

• We also said goodbye
to Nevaeh and Khumba
who moved to their
owners’ home after
being schooled at
CEC for 2 months.
• O.B. was sold on to a
very happy new owner
at Kyalami, and we
know he and Leesa
will make fabulous
memories together.
• We always have a
variety of horses and
ponies for sale. For more

• With Christmas around
we want to encourage
all our clients to take
our fabulous grooms
into consideration this
Christmas Season.
These guys (and gal)
are such dedicated
individuals – always
looking out for our
horses as well as
ourselves – and they
would really appreciate
a little ‘Thank you’.
Apart from receiving
an extra bonus during
December; some of the
things that are always a
hit for them are: 2L cold
drinks, bags of mealie
meal, food hampers,
t-shirts, portable coffee
mugs, cash in a sealed
envelope or any other
little spoil that will
make their holiday
extra-special. We have 9
Men and 1 cleaning lady
working at CEC. Gifts
can be brought to the
office where Charlene
and Melindi will ensure
it gets supplied to them
during the holiday
season. PLEASE GUYS: if
you supply our grooms
with something, write
a little ‘thank you’
note with your name
attached – so they
know who to thank!

mornings for dressage
riders. We always
advertise her services of
Dressage lessons which
are given at her rate
of R320 per lesson on
our Whattsapp group.
ANYONE is welcome –
you do not need to be
an experienced rider to
participate in a dressage
lesson with Janet.

from 6:30 pm. In the
event of an emergency
after hours eg. a Sick
horse, the owner of said
horse will be contacted
in order to arrange
veterinary or hospital
care.
HORSE-PITAL
• Hunter recovered
from a hoof abscess.
• Jungle cut his frog on
a suspected rock in
his camp but Allen
Hendrikse, our super
Farrier made him a shoe
with a ‘hospital plate’ to
support the area whilst
the frog grows back.
• Karissa had a mild
sprain on her front left
but has recovered and
is back in full work.
• PLEASE ensure your
horses are insured for
a Critical Care hospital
plan. During December
months we normally
find that the horses are
prone to colic because
owners are away on
holiday and they don’t
get worked according
to their usual routing,
slowing down their
metabolism. This
results in an impaction
colic which could also
lead to entrapments
or even torsions of the
gut. A cover of at LEAST
R80 000 is advised as
in-hospital treatment
can get quite expensive.

NOTE T0
STABLING & RIDING CLIENTS
• The riding school will be CLOSED from Monday 11 December
2017 and will re-open on Monday 8 January 2018. Clients
with their own horses are always welcome to come ride,
but no lessons will be taking place during this time as our
instructors and riding school horses will be having their
annual break. Rest assured that between Charlene, Melindi,
Corinne and Nicolene (AS well as our new Equine science
student, Claire) the horses will be kept under a watchful
eye.
• PLEASE TAKE NOTE: IF PAYMENT WITH REGARDS TO YOUR
STABLING AND / OR RIDING LESSONS ARE NOT PAID BY THE 3RD DAY OF EACH
NEW MONTH – a late payment penalty of R150 will take effect and be billed with
your next invoice.
• If you are unable to make your payment by the 3rd day of the new month after
receiving your invoice, PLEASE contact Melindi @ 084 760 8450 in order to arrange
payment procedure BEFORE the 3rd of each new month.
• Most Riders have caught up their December lessons to be missed while the riding
school is closed – and we all want to thank you and the parents for this. The

NOTE TOinstructors
STABLING & RIDING CLIENTS
have been working non-stop
to get the lessons on time, and since our
instructors work on a commission basis, we
are thankful for every rider for coming in on
those extra days to do the catch-up lessons.
A reminder that we are one of the few
riding schools that DO CATCH UP the riding
lessons. Some riding schools still charge for
the lessons of December in order to ‘keep
your riding slot’ but do not give the lessons.
A small number of riders still have a lesson
outstanding, but the instructors will catch
those up during the month of January 2018
as soon as we Re-open on the 8th.
• Please remember that NO RIDER is allowed
on horseback at CEC WITHOUT wearing a
RIDING HELMET! Please guys, this is for your own safety and most horse-related
injuries are head injuries. Always better to be safe than sorry.
• Riders having Lessons at Countryside Equestrian Centre – Please remember that
we work on a 24 hour notice period for Cancellation of Lessons. It has happened
a few times where riders don’t show up for their scheduled riding lesson where
the horse / pony has been saddled up and is ready to work. In these events our
instructors WILL NOT catch up the riding lesson missed unless in the event of an
EMERGENCY. Our 24 hour notice period enables the instructor to then book in
another student who might have missed a lesson and thus the instructors’ time
is not wasted as ALL our instructors work on a commission basis with regards to
lessons given.
• Clients: Please remember if you would like to discontinue riding lessons or
stabling at CEC we need to receive one CALENDER months’ notice / payment in
advance.
• Our price list for 2018 as well as our YEARLY PLANNER for CEC will be emailed to
each client by the 15th of December 2017.

CEC CLUB SHIRTS are available for purchase at the office @ R 390 per CEC club shirt.
For those eventers at our yard, we have 1kg tubs of eventing grease available at
R350 per kg. Get your orders in ASAP to help protect the legs of your noble steed
when galloping out cross-country.
