<strong>Vilas</strong> <strong>County</strong> is one of the world’s premier snowmobiling<br />
destinations. Ride over 600 miles of spectacular trails that<br />
traverse a half million acres of wilderness, crossing undeveloped<br />
lakes and connecting scenic Northwoods communities. <strong>Vilas</strong><br />
<strong>County</strong> is part of the Lake Superior Snowbelt, so the trails get<br />
significant snow. Eagle River is the Snowmobile Capital of the<br />
World, hosting events like the World Championship Snowmobile<br />
Derby as well as other competitive races. Snowmobile rentals<br />
are available in <strong>Vilas</strong> <strong>County</strong>, and retailers have all the gear<br />
you’ll need to stay warm and comfortable for the ride.<br />

ongoing efforts of the county’s clubs. Their volunteers<br />
maintain the trails and make improvements that keep the<br />
